living in Busan, Korea (it sucks) and I used Speakeasy's LA server
Using Speedtest.net and I'm using the recommended Yokohoma server from Japan.
Woot!! I can play XBL w/o lag!!! (Hopefully...) Wait.. Can I? (From Busan, Seoul to USA since I have friends back there which I need to kick their arse in COD4)
Here is my SpeakEasy test I ran it Twice seem's to be somewhat slow today. My connections if FIOS 15/15 regular home connection cause I be on XBOX Live.
We're on Comcast here in Tennessee. I've had download speeds of between 4000 and 7000 kbps for years. I have had three computers hooked to a hub which is hooked to a router which is hooked to the cable modem the whole time. I finally added a fourth computer which required an additional port and therefore the hub had to go. I did some research and found that a switch is better than a hub and therefore got a used Linksys EZXS88W (8 port switch) off ebay. WOW, what a difference!!!!! The first time I did the test at speakeasy.net the download was 24000 kbps. It has averaged between 15000 and 24000 every time on my PC and also on my three Macs after I installed Broadband Optimizer (they were only half as fast downloading as my PC before that). I wish I had known.
To all you hub users: get a switch (or better just go straight off the router if you are close enough to it--my router is upstairs with the in-laws' PC and my four computers are in the basement and that's why I can't just use the router.)
