Huh, I would have thought it would be the other way around. Nice though, I've thought about changing to Linux before for the same reasons. Still up for debate. Convince me?

Well I'm not really going to try to convince anyone, as everyone has different needs, and so different OS's will work better for some than others. For me, switching wasn't really a problem, I don't use any OS specific apps (this is the biggest hurdle, if say you need Photoshop or MS Office or something), and I've used linux before so moving back wasn't a big deal.

The only real problem I ran into was my external harddrives. I had to reformat all 6TBs worth since linux doesn't like the mac HFS format, which meant bouncing a lot of data around, which took days. The main reason why I switched is because I really truly don't care for Lion, and honestly after playing with linux for a month, I can't see me going back to OS X, as I'm quite content. (Though ironically I still have Snow Leopard running on a Dell netbook that I have as my backup machine.)

Nice. This is not the default theme, right? Themed gnome?

Yes you're right, it's not the default theme. It's a few custom themes and mods mixed together, on Gnome 3.

True, I do need pages and/or word. Not than linux doesn't offer some alternatives. I think as long as I am a student (only 4 more months) I will stick with SL. We shall see! Perhaps a partition in my future. lol.

Not too sure which city or even which country this is from, but I like it very much. I'm a huge fan of black and white wallpapers.
