Why is it that barely any photos have content on their desktops?

I can't stand clutter on the desktop. I'm very strict about organizing all my content; Downloads gets away from me once in a while, but nothing ever goes on the desktop. I have the icons hidden anyway. Also, slows it down a bit I hear the more crap you have floating around on there.

Not really, more like those infos people have on their desktop. I.e. Date temp etc..
