Remember a US Gallon is different than a UK one. So it's closer to £5 or around $8. Still awfully high, but not quite as bad as some make out.

North Texas [DFW] area currently avg $3.41.
Man I remember back when I was in high school and low grade was .89 a gallon at RaceTrack.

The gas price (EURO95) as of today (Netherlands):
€1,675/Liter <--> €6,35/US Gallon
€6,35=$8,90/US Gallon.
So.. It's always been expensive but this is bad.

£1.30 per Litre, £5.91 per UK Gallon, $7.95 per US Gallon.

Where did you find it at £1.30? I paid £1.39/l diesel yesterday in Stourbridge ($8.45 US gallon)
Was 129.9 at Sainsburys, Hempstead (Kent, UK) until Thursday, went up to 130.9. Cobham Esso (on the M2 motorway) always used to be 1p cheaper but has now gone up to 133.9 (141.9 for diesel - ouch!) BUT:
Farthing Corner Services (BP) just after j4 on the M2, Kent - 138.9 for petrol, 145.9 for diesel!

Tell me about it, it's gone insane here...I've taken to filling up in unmaned stations so I can save a few extra few cents each time.
most places around my area are right about $3.95/gal. for 87 Octane, unless it is BP/Arco which will be a few cents cheaper typically.
I've started too see diesel creep over the £1.40 mark around Manchester. I seem to remember just a year or two ago complaining when it went over £1!
