I never said it was, and I don't believe it is. It's just that given that the world is under the impression that Canon and Nikon are the only options (primarily just because they hold market share), then it seems pertinent to show that they haven't killed off the competition yet and that there are many other manufacturers putting out great equipment that shouldn't be disregarded because they have small market share.

In his defense, if you actually looked at the post he commented on, he was correcting other people's comments regarding Pentax's market share.....a comment he didn't originally make.

I don't think Nikon is going to release a body I want this year. Other than that, what I have does what I need.

Nice bumpage of this thread, I recently took this shot of most of my equipment, it is missing a few things, and obviously my tripod.

I thought I might update my "list":

Camera is still the Nikon D40.

The preAI 50mm was replaced by a current af-d one, and a 135mm came: so the lenses now are:
18-55/3.5-5.6
30/1.4
50/1.8
135/2.8 (a nice preAI from the early 70's)

and the flash unit i was talking about about still hasn't made it into my hands, that will probably still take some time.
And I have my eyes on some of those uwa lenses.
