Anyone move from ATH-M50 to ATH-M50X? Wondering specifically about the comfort difference, if any - I heard the pads are slightly different on the 50X. Softer? Shape?

Hello fellow Head-Fi member :D

How do like that VAMP Verza ? I wonder how it'll work with high impedance units like the 650, DT 990 [ 250 / 600 OHM ] ... etc..

I love it! But I have no idea how it'd do with others. I've heard on high gain mode it works well, but I only tested it out on the HD650s briefly at AC Gears in NYC, and admittedly it seemed to work like a charm.

And yeah, Head-Fi represent! :D

Just picked up some Klipsch R6's. My S4's failed and thankfully bought the warranty from Bestbuy. I got to upgrade to these. I like them much better then the S4's so far.

Not worth buying a new pair for that reason alone. It's softer, but marginally...

It would actually be a replacement for a set of M50s that are no longer with us ...

*single dramatic tear*

Just the detachable cord is almost worth the $50 or so "street price" difference, but if they were a little more comfy, that would probably seal the deal :)

Much like matching speakers to amps (or vice versa), I use headphones appropriate to the source.

That, and I like shiny.

Before things get out of hand.. I have a question about Beats.

I was never a fan of the Beats headphones, until a few days ago. I saw they made new Studios and a version that has bluetooth. I've googled around and they seem to have gotten better. So I was driving by best buy and I figured I would check them out...I thought they were ok. The bass was toned down but the mids were lacking. They also surprisingly had the Sennheiser momentum on-ears. Those sounded terrible. They were flat and knowing best buy broken.

I had to go to apple today and they had the Beats studios and the over the ear Sennheiser momentum. To my amazement they both sounded similar. I thought both were lacking in the mids. The beats obv. had better bass, but the Sennheiser didn't have the strong of bass. I'm not a bass head or an audiophile but I do like more bass and my mids. What I like about the Beats studios is that they can be wireless so I can use them on my nMP when I'm doing my video editing. ( I don't really need to correct sound too much, just worry about my levels peaking/matching. Both are comfortable on my head with the slight edge to the beats. I have a few Sennheiser mics and love them to death. I like the Sennheiser in the sound department, looks and obv. the build quality.

Whats your thoughts on these two?
Thanks!

If you are looking at those two you MUST chuck the V-Moda M-100's into the equation. I don't like the momentums because they sounded flat to me. I don't like beats because you are paying for the brand and the bass is muddy and boomy. The M-100's are well worth an audition, the bass is prominent but controlled while hitting hard.

Note pic was taken with iPhone 5s. I like to keep my earbuds hanging to keep them safe and untangled. Skullcandy Fix on the left and Smokin Buds on the right.

I'm a tiny bit interested in a pair of wireless, bluetooth headphones. I'd only be willing to spend up to $100-150. Are there any decent sounding ones out there for that type of money? I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I do appreciate good sound quality.

I'm not willing to spend more than stated, as I will be using them for the gym.

Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the Jaybirds Bluebuds, as I can't stand In-ear earphones, except for the iPhone-headset. So, they have to be on-ear/over-ear.

Any suggestions? I've seen the Creative ones, but I don't really like them. Bose Wireless are too expensive, and the same goes for Beats Wireless.

Thanks! :)

I have been thinking of getting these but when viewing reviews and stuff there has been some wonky support in both iOS and OS X, works for some and not for others, so yeah, do they work for you? I want to use them for both OS X and iOS, any issues for you?

My Main Headphones, Bowers and Wilkins P7. The sound of these beats anything I've listened to before. I also have Bose QC15, Apple IEM's, EarPods and Bose MIE2i, but I don't use those as much as the B&W's
