How about a pair of ER6is? I've heard good things about them; not a lot of bass but otherwise good earphones. Personally I've had a good experience with Shures. What's your price range?

from this review https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/153489/ they sound OK but i dont think ill get them. i want something under US$100 but i dont think im going to get one wit volume control.

what are the Apple in ears like? theyre praising how they have woofers and tweeters in each driver.

i know westone has a volume switch adapter thing. can't remember where, or how much but i remember it.
i really want one because if you have good sound canceling you don't need much volume.
on my ipod i can put it at the lowest and its still clear.

o, good advice, if you do get iem's set a volume limit on your ipod. the one time its on max and you turn it on will have you thank me.

Sony XB-500

Here are my Sony XB-500's. Bought them over the Summer, and still love them.

dunno where ya get cheapest from :O cheapest pair i've seen in my local HMV were about 50 quid :O but yeah they do seem a bit crappy and pretty ugly dont they haha

They are overpriced crap. The sound is just awful. The first pair I tested I was expecting just the utter demolition of sound through a headphone that was essentially a subwoofer, boy was I surprised. The low-end on the some ten pairs I have put on has been non-existent.

How do you like them? I really want to make sure I am getting a quality set of headphones before I drop $300 on them.

Then don't get them. For $300 there are a significant amount of better options. I don't like the headphones, but after taking a second look at them, my opinion went from awful crap to overpriced crap. I'd pay maybe $100 for the, and that is mainly because of their looks. I like my Panasonic RP-HTX7's sound over them.
