i went to a classical concert tonight and i want to know,
is there any headphone that can replicate the beauty of it?

it wasn't mic'ed up at all, and every one i have been to that has been, mic'ed up, the beauty was destroyed.

I would look into studio monitor headphones, and possibly an amp. Monitors don't alter the sound. I use AKG 240's and a portable amp (total bithead).

Does anybody have a good recommendation for headphones to use while working out? My UEs keep falling out of my ears and the stock i_____ work better for that, but sound too open due to the fact they just sit there.

I have never heard these personally but they aren't called the King of Headphones for being crap.

my current set up

I have gone through numerous headphones! ... in ear as well as on ear...these are what I am currently using:
Sony MDR 7506 in my studio (I plan on getting Sennheiser 280HD Pro for the studio), Koss Porta Pro (for my mp3 player), GK UltraPhones (for when I'm practicing & recording on the drums!)

I had Senn HD555 as well at one point but they were replaced by the AT AD700 which I found to be much better.

If you like that experience, Sennheiser's HD650 (with an amp), even though not the most neutral phones around (they are somewhat warm), they can give you a great experience for classical concerts, they make you feel like you are in front of an orchestra. And if you take the time to choose the right amp (it doesn't have to be the most expensive, just have synergy with the HD650) you'll get an awesome experience, very hard to beat for what you're looking for.

How well do the ultraphones work? i use a pair of the metrophone's studio cans, they work ok i still get a little bit of bleed, why i ask is i've been having a little bit of hearing issues because i've been playing drums for about 15 years and i'm looking for the best isolation any input would be awesome

Like I stated earlier, I have tried tons of hearing related products, Metrophones Studio Kans being one of them! The Metros are okay for a bit of attenuation but the GK's are in another league. The GK UltraPhones are a hybrid product....They are high isolation 29db, hearing protection ear muff with Sony MDR 7506 drivers installed. For me they work extremely well.... providing just enough bleed from my drums, allowing me to hear the drums while playing to music or a click without an abnormally high volume. You can use them for live gigs thus protecting your ears from overly loud bandmates or an aggressive monitor mix.

When I do live gigs I always wear these (unless I'm doing a light jazz gig). Just be very aware of your volume while wearing any hearing device. (some people play louder because they are not used to hearing themselves at a reduced volume).

I hope this helps....if you want more info, just let me know.

Thank's alot for the response, i think ill throw the MetroCan's on eBay and pick up a pair of those, i usually wear those or 8$ smith and wesson shotgun muff's which work really well.. As for live gigs i actually went to the ear doctor recently and had some custom ear plug's made, they ran about 150$ but what's the price of hearing.. I've noticed about the playing harder thing and i have cut back a whole lot from when i started cause i play pretty progressive rock stuff (but not cheesy dream theater).. But anyway thanks for the info much appreciated
