I was mostly going to use them for my desktop, and maybe a little for my iPod Touch. I know what you mean, I was seeing photos for with the adapter so long. That made them questionable for me purchasing them, but if it was so bad, i could just use my Bose IE's.

I think for home use they are perfect on the move its a little more questionable, the solution I came up with was to purchase the monster iPhone cable converter. This flexi piece of cable extends the cable and allows you to put the 3" of plastic next to your iPod touch or in may case iPhone. At least this means the converters are not sticking out straight vertically. It will also help take the strain of your Macs audio port and if it is knocked it shouldn't snap because its flexible, unlike the plastic on the end of the headphones! :D

I hope that may help you, and enjoy!

Thanks bro, this could help a lot. I'll probably order this, since it looks like it could be very helpful.

not so much 'headphones'... more IEM

Here are my cans, what you think?

They're the UM3x by WestOne. Oddly, they cost less here in Japan than they have them listed for in the USA!! I save $80, including six extra pairs of comply short tips.. gotta love the exchange rates.:p

p.s. already sold the two week old Westone 3's. My friend in HK kept asking for them when I get them replaced... I think they sounded a little too bright for my liking. I hope he enjoys them more!!

Oh here... my UM2's meet the new UM3x.

Yup and as always, they're still made in the USA!!
And the sound is truly amazing!!

I'm a little puzzeled about the specifications though. My box differs from the web... Did they change the specs or is there a mis-print?
can i just ask, how did you pay for these?

Audio-Technica AD700

These are my audiophile (without breaking the bank!) headphones for high quality listening.

I love the tight bass on them and the very impressive soundstage, great for listening to classical music which is what I do most of these days....Hilary Hahn playing Bach's Double Violin Concerto in D minor ROCKS on these!

Sony MDR-EX76LP

Just bought these today to replace my "discman era" old Fontopia style headphones....I got them over the similarly priced Sennheiser CX300 because I've read many reviews about the CX300's boomy bass and short cable.

I love the 1.2 meter long cable on these which means I can have my iPhone in my pocket without pulling the headphones or having to walk around with a cable extender. Plus I like the "round the back of the neck" design for the right hand side ear bud, saves me squinting to see R or L on the bud!

So far they are a world away from the Audio-Technica AD700, not that I was expecting anything else.....but they're great for train/walking around use!

Really? I read tons of positive reviews, thought they were quite good... And I'm sorry, I thought they where somewhere round the $80-100 ish price range, just saw the retail price and its be way too high considering Monster's reputation (in quality not price) . And... are they as bad as the Bose IE? 'cause if they are, shame on Monster, Bose must be really easy tu surpass for any decent audio company ejejj :p

No, they are not as bad as the Bose earphones. The Turbines don't have "The best sound ever", but they are still pretty darn good IMHO. Find a decent pair of ear tips that fit and you'll be all set. :)

It ships with that type of case now?

No. I have the previous model which is shown above. Love them. Sound great.

Here's a pic of the new case and accessories. Slight modifications have been made to the earphones as well. They moved the power supply in a different area. Other than that they are the same.

I have the Apple In Ear Headphones.
In combo with my iPod Touch and MBP it's absolutely fabulous.
I really love the controls and the sounds is really good as well, comparable to my AKG's.

Wow... seems alot of people own the Beats by Dr. Dre phones. They must sound good.

I've been to the Apple Store too much, I bet you all of the associates are knowing my mug by now :D

I guess I have a trip to the Apple Store to make to test these buddies out!

Motorola HT820

HT820_fullspec_productimage.jpg

The Motorola HT820 has very good sound (not great - but much better than the original iPhone 3G headphones). The big plus is, NO WIRES!!!

It has a longer battery life and better controls than the Motorola S9-HD. Good ear pads keep out a lot of ambient noise. It does have an annoying blue light that you will want to turn off on day one.

Also, you can use just the headphone portion, without mic, as a wired headphone, even if the batteries run down. I use them on planes, for watching movies on the plane's system or on my MB-Pro or for listening to iPhone music, with the Bluetooth power turned off. It just requires a mini to sub-mini headphone plug (not an option on the S9-HD).

The only problem with the HT820 that you walk around looking like Princess Leia. Fortunately, nobody would mistake my ugly puss for Princess Leia, so I can get away with it. :D

As for the better controls, we will have to wait for the next release of iPhone software, to see if Apple adds support for AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile) to it's iPhone Bluetooth capabilities. Without AVRCP, all of the neat controls on the HT820 are useless.

The HT820 available controls include Answer/Hangup, VoiceDial, Play/Pause, FF, Rew, Next and Back. All of that worked with my old cell phone and iPod, using the iMuffs Bluetooth dongle on the iPod, switching between the two sources flawlessly. With the current iPhone, the only control functionality that I can use on the headphone is Answer/Hangup and Play/Pause. Bummer. :(

in 3.0, Apple has added copy/paste, voice dial and other sorely missing features. Now, if Apple will just get their Bluetooth act together on the iPhone and give us AVRCP, it will be the perfect smart phone (based upon currently available technology, of course).

haha literally i have had 10+ pairs of those.
skullcandy hates me. i bought 2 pairs (needed a pair right away and i was far from home) and they have replaced them for me tons of time because they broke.

then i got a pair of westones and they broke the second day
they fixed them and have been working great since then.
but now my ipod's audio jack is messed (second time fixing it)

i think audio hates me.

hey anyone have amps for there ipods?
like from the port on the bottom for better sound.
