I really like the Koss Porta Pro ...excellent sound quality, $32, lifetime warranty, foldable, and comfortable ( with modification....I put some sennheiser PX100 ear pads in the Koss....a marriage made in heaven!)

thank you very much for your suggestion :) I had already heard of the Koss porta pro, and they are surely not bad and a great deal, but the design looks a bit too much weird to me and I wouldn't wear them when I'm on the go. I'm looking for something more... traditional and minimalist (like the urbanears) Does anybody else have something in mind?

Check out the vJAYS, great reviews and pretty impressive for the $$$.

Just bought the klipsch s4i as a replacement to my previous ones, beats earphone.
Beats cable are so cheap, even if the bass are good for hip hop songs, flat cable is not as solid than others. I had many problems, and changed them twice in one year only.

Klipsch s4i seems more solid and way much cheaper.
Hope it will last a long time.

ohhhh good idea! i just purchased the Koss Porta Pro from Amazon this week and waiting for delivery which is supposed to be sometime next week but shipping status is "getting ready for shipping" or something like that
Anyways, i will have to try your mod suggestion, thanks!

JVC HA-NC250.

Great noise-cancelling circuitry, decent sound, 1/3 the price of the Bose QCs. Very good, well-equipped package.

First bought a pair of these:

Westone One's with different tips about a year ago and thought they were amazing.

Just after christmas, I bought myself a pair of these to wear when isolation wasn't an issue:

And love them (they're Grado SR80i). The difference in soundstage between these two is pretty crazy. Makes me never want to buy a pair of IEMs again

Those are PX200 ear pads BTW but that's a great idea!

Honestly I had a pair of earbuds from the late 80s by Sony that looked JUST like those.

I think they cost 24.99 - which to a kid with 1980s dollars - was some serious cash.

And the Sony buds sounded like epic-fail molded into ABS with a foam surround.

Be advised: I am NOT knocking your buds there at all - just reliving the memory those things evoke...

Does anyone else here use cheap headphones like I do? I don't really get the big deal abotu grados and stuff. It's like.. throw a name you can't pronounce onto a product and sell i for $300 = pROFIT!

Maybe I should make something. Coco Bravada headphones! made inuh.. germany! yea! $900!

You can tell that about lot's of brands out there, but Grado isn't one of them.
I used cheap phones for a lot of time, and one day I decided to give myself something better...got the Alessandro MS1i (grado powered, and cost about 110$), and it is another world.

people simply don't get high end audio until they listen to a high end set. bose and beats don't count. like engadget reviewed the Westone 4 today, and they cost $450. every other comment was like, wow, they cost so much. but in reality, they're middle ground for high end IEMs.

Also, grados don't have a large soundstage. haha. ;)

Sennheiser HD 25-1-II by Adidas Originals

Bought these a while ago. Managed to get them new for £150 instead of £210, so payed only a little more (~£30) for the branding. Haven't founder a pair of headphones better for club monitor use. Won't find anything that sounds as good, looks as good, is replaceable for when (not if) it gets lost or stolen and is durable or more user replaceable. Love them!
