Has anyone tried out the Soul Ludacris range of headphones yet, I am looking to replace my Beats Solo, and was considering a set of Beats Studios until I came across the Soul Electronics Range endorsed by Ludacris. I am looking at the 150s on ear, but slightly bigger than the Solos. I tried out the SL300s today in FYE, but to be honest, $299 is a bit more than I wanted to spend. Trying to find a store in the central Orlando area, who have the SL150s in stock that I can try on before deciding. The apple store don't appear to have them, although they are on the apple website. The stock that FYE had were sealed and the staff weren't prepared to open a set of SL150s for me to try, they only had the SL300 out of the box.

Just wanting to know if anyone had tried the SL150s yet and what do they think ?

:):apple:

Not sure about those yet. I did hear from many that the Sol Republic Tracks headphones sold at Best Buy for $99 are far better than the Solo HD.

I've got Grado 225's with the extra large Grado pads. These are fantastic headphones, the best ones I have, and by a good margin. A supreme pleasure to listen to, when driven correctly with a good amp and/or DAC.

I've also got the Shure 850's, they are also very good (not the same league as the Grado though). I use these more for music production, but they sound very good for listening too. Great passive noise isolation.

I've got the Beats studio as well. Overpriced (I got a good deal on mine), noise cancelling is ok, build quality is poor, but the sound is still pretty good. Not as good as my Shure's or Grado's, but they do sound good. Great for walking around noisy towns... They don't sound nearly as bad as most audiophiles describe... I find people sometimes get biased against Monster...

I've also got the Monster Turbine Pro's (gold edition), these are EXCELLENT earbuds. I love them. Great sound, and great passive noise isolation.

And finally I've got some crappy skullcandy earbuds (but these are my "beaters", the ones I scrunch up and throw in my bag), and some decent JVC headphones too...

Well, I went ahead and ordered a set of Klipsch s4i's last night when the direct-from-Amazon price dropped below $60. There was a bit of a price war going on between a third party seller and Amazon which drove the price down. It's back up above $65 now, and they're usually priced at around $79 on Amazon (retail $99).

Hopefully they're an upgrade from the UE 220vi's that I currently use.

I love my Sennheiser cx300-ii precision's... Mainly because they are good at noise reduction and I work in an office with a moron who insists on expressing his inner monologue verbally every 5 seconds.

My beloved HD650 replaced the fatiguing HD595, now working seamlessly well with my Little Dot MKII

I just received them last night, so I haven't had a good chance to use them yet. I've only been able to listen to part of a song so far (just to make sure they work). My first impression is positive, but I'll have to use them a bit longer to build a proper opinion.

Here's my setup for the macbook pro: Fiio E7 (bought on marketplace), and a pair of westone 3s which I think are a great deal for the price ;)

Using the larger eartips helps out the noise isolation a lot, so I can no longer hear people yelling at me ;)

I just bought them and I'm very pleased. I had originally tried the beats tour for a while but I hated them. I could never get them to stay in my ears and I didn't even think the sound quality was all that great. These on the other hand are outstanding. The sound on these is great and they fit in my ears perfect. The silicone tips are oval shaped as opposed to rounded and I think that helps a lot.

Etymotic Research HF3 - definitely my favourite. just clarity and no bass boost
Beats Tour - For the gym + work. Durable enough to withstand the abuse.
Shure SE215 - nice punchy sound but I much prefer the detail of HF3

I've been using the C5's for a short amount of time now, and I'm really enjoying them. Next up will be the P5's with a dedicated desktop amp.
