I have the HD25 1 II's and they are by far the best set of cans Ive owned yet. Ive heard good stuff about the Amperiors!

Yeah, according to Tyll from inner fidelity the aluminum helps the acoustics. Also, they have a lower impedance than the HD 25 II's which means the iphone can drive them better on its own.

Ive had this conversation on Head-Fi with another member,
His attitude was the iPhone can "easily" drive the HD25 1 IIs...

Imo, It can drive them but not that well,
But when you pair them with an amp/lod as I have
They really come into their own!

whereas the Amperior's are amped so I would imagine what you say won't be an issue :) Let me know how you get along with the setup ;)

iFrogz Luxe w/mic earphones.
View attachment 328126

How's the mic on these? I need a pair of headphones to replace my Apple headphones with a mic and remote.

I have a cheapie pair that I use for running/biking since the cord is shorter, but the phone call quality is terrible according to people i've talked to.

Lame question, the tip always fits! :p

I actually lol'ed.

Some much needed lightness amongst the Beats bashing and superiority.

They mic is pretty good but for some reason iFrog earphones break within 1-2 months with me, so I wouldn't really recommend them.

Thank you kindly, ma'am.

I purchased a pair of Phillips O'Neill headphones from Amazon to see how they do.. they are supposed to come today.

How are they holding up so far?

They are okay as far as sound quality (they were only $16). I am not one of those people who are too picky about it, because I really only use headphones when i'm working out, so it's not a huge issue for me.

As far as the microphone goes.. I wouldn't suggest them. The few times i've tried to use them, the other person said they could hear themselves echoing, which is a problem i've never had with the Apple earbuds.

So.. i'll probably never use them again. They'll probably go into my "when friends need headphones" depository with all the other failed attempts at replacing the Apple earbuds for phone calls.

And with the Apple earbuds on sale for about $24 at Best Buy (not sure if it's just online or if it's in-store as well), i'll probably suck it up and pick up a pair of those.

What are those IEM's like?
Im still weighing up my options at the moment.

The HD25 1 II never gets boring to my eyes.
Damn sweet cans!!:D
The C5's are the best IEM's I've ever owned. I've tried a lot too.

They have a great balanced sound, with a slight bass emphasis. Very comfortable, and they don't fall out due to the ear loop that is an ingenious idea.

They seem to be very sturdy and well built, as I've had them for almost a year and they are working fine. Usually IEM's break on me after 6 months.

Yeah I love the HD25's! Best headphones ever. I've been eyeing a lot of different cans lately but hesitant to drop some cash because the HD25's are treating me well.

I know what you mean about the cans.

I went into my local Richer Sounds a few weeks back and asked if I could try out a pair of Grado SR60i's in the demo room.

I had my 25's on me at the time along with my portable amp etc so it was a good opportunity to try them out side by side.

Obviously the Grado's were a demo set so unsure how burned in they were if at all.

But I'll say Although I love the Grado sound and I do have a set on the way now, I find the 25's way more transparent with a tighter bass.

Which is perfect for me as I find the 25's more suited to fast paced dance music & modern rock etc.

The Grado's will be more suited to My collection of Jazz, Classical and Opera etc.

Or so I believe lol...

Left these running in for the past few days constantly soaking up every genre imaginable as well as various noise consumption periods and sweep tests and they already sound way better than they did out of the box!

Suits me perfectly as I use studio monitors with my iMac/MBP too rather than speakers so it's nice to have a 'true' sound in my pocket now too :)

Now to replace my entire audio library with lossless formats haha
