Well here's mine in my "Studio" and all for $400 bucks, gotta love Ikea:D

Table tops:VIKA BLECKET- (my drafting table) and the one the Mini is on, I think, is the: VIKA AMON
Legs:VIKA ARTUR-freaking great cause they are adjustable
Dokument trashcan-after another trip
Global lamp
Hoerup lamp
DIODER lighting strips- for my drafting table
Orgel Vreten- the tall lamp
Aspvik cabinet- which I got on sale for $40!
Jarpen shelfs- not picture cause I still haven't put them up yet:rolleyes:
The rolling chair, the Futon, and the rug are the only things not from Ikea.
And soon to be in my bedroom, the whole Malm series, if it will fit lol. The sad part in all of this is I absolutely enjoyed putting it all together!

IKEA opened in Charlotte, NC last week so I made the trip.

Here's the desk I "made" - used Numerar Oak countertop and Vika Kaj legs.

Going back this weekend to get Vika Inge legs because I don't like the adjustable legs.

I cannot wait until my sister moves out, I can then built the loft in to a study for myself.

Damn, it will look beautfiul when I'm finished with it. Problem is, I'm going to have to wait a few months. Maybe up to a year.

I am considering buying a Jonas desk. I just can't decide between the one with the cabinets or the one with the pull out portion! Ahh, decisions!
The pull-out desk really gets in the way I think. It sticks out about 8 inches from the rest and is annoyingly narrow as well.

Here's my Ikea stuff, I have two of the Lack shelves offset on the wall displaying my Asian collectibles. I have a magnet board to hang somewhere as well, haven't picked a spot yet. Planning to get a Malm bed to match and a dresser as well. That won't be happening until this summer during my bi-annual trip to Ikea 3hrs away :D

CAPITA speaker stands

I had a co-worker give me a single pack of 6" CAPITA stands, so I bought another and used them as speaker stands for my Paradigm Atom v.5 speakers. Raising the speakers off the desk brought the tweeters to ear level, removed the boundry effect that was muddying up the midbass and a couple other improvements to the sound. Now they sound even better. All for $12 (the first box didn't cost me anything. You need two boxes).

In case you can't figure out how to make them, here is a pictorial guide for your perusal:

Before:

CAPITA 6" legs.

Packing tape to hold it in place.

Rubber nubs stored for later.

6" height difference. IKEA has 4", 6" and 8" versions.

Final product.

Grills removed.

The speakers are powered via the Griffin PowerWave. With 15 watts per channel and 90db sensitivity speakers, the gain doesn't need to be up very high to achieve respectable sound pressure levels.

I just switched from a Mac Pro to a Mac Book Pro and I don't have everything on the desk sorted out. I'm debating between a stand for the laptop, or a shelf for it to live in underneath the screen.
