Here is mine. I am a 37 year old man who works in critical infrastructure on the railroad. I tend to use my phone as a phone rather than an attention black hole. I have absolutely no social media accounts, and cannot stand the constant rings, dings, and vibrations modern phones make.
As such, my phone is pretty boring. I have a single homepage with the apps I use and the weather widget. Notifications are turned completely off for everything except phone calls. I do not keep an email app on the phone. Everything I couldn’t delete due to Apples restrictions, along with apps I use, but access differently than clicking on the icon (Apple Music/Maps/GaiaGPS/Scanner Radio/Outcast all via CarPlay, and Camera) is hidden in the App Library.
Background data is turned off for most apps. Location data and other permissions that could compromise privacy is turned off for all apps except maps, GaiaGPS, and the weather widget.
The phone is on “Do Not Disturb”/Silent 24/7. It may take me awhile to return missed calls or messages, but it keeps me away from this always on, always connected culture everybody seems to be trapped in today, and my stress levels are extremely low because of these choices.
I recently went from an iPhone X to the new SE because I cannot stand huge phones. I really wish the new SE was in the old 5s body still. Heck, if Apple created a flip phone (like in something like the original Motorola Razr form factor) with a stripped down iOS (all I need is CarPlay with the CarPlay apps I use, Apple Music, decent camera, and iMessage), I would buy that thing in a heartbeat AND pay a premium for it.
