The more I use it the more ios14 really annoys me. The gap at the bottom is not due to widgets by the way it’s there if you just fill your screen with normal icons. Do apple honestly think this looks good or is it just lazy development?

Widgets feel pointless still, in fact the only benefit I can see is they offer the only way to make your Home Screen look a little more interesting.

Rockin that Big Sur wallpaper for my 11 Pro.

Decided to try something totally new and throw my OCD about having some semblance of the factory default layout out the window. Smart Stack on top with Weather, Batteries, Music, Apple TV, and Podcasts. Siri App Suggestions on the bottom. Still just using a single page and leaving the rest to my App Library.

If you really want to go crazy add one additional Siri suggestion under the first one so you’ll have twice as many suggested apps. They will show different apps and be better as time goes on.

I am using one stack... square one and has pictures and weather. Been nice. Can’t be sure I’ll ever need any other stock widget from Apple. Maybe some from other developers in time.

It’s always shown my recently played...I think...and let’s me pick on which playlist/album I want from that. I really like it for that, but most of the time I use CarPlay or Apple Music online, so I'm not sure I’ll keep it as a widget as I only seem to listen on my phone when I’m cutting the lawn.

Maybe when I’m back to traveling a lot more.

The Music widget is useless if you don't use Apple Music. I have it but I listen to music from my library almost exclusively and it does not update with those playlists so it is a BS feature designed to make you use their dumb service.

Well...it's not an iTunes widget, it's an Apple Music widget.

It would be more useful as a music widget. Seeing as the app that plays all my music is called Music. And the widget is also named.

I think the main difference (and this is true with most of the widgets) is that it has the ability to show what's new, other options, based on your patterns...like Apple TV widget.

Doesn't mean that a "music" or iTunes widget wouldn't be nice to have, but what exactly would it show? Your most recently played albums, songs, playlists? So you could tap on one of them and play them? That's about all of the interaction it could have...very limited. Where the current widget shows stuff you may have NOT listened to...suggestions...that's what I love most about Apple Music.

That's what I'm looking for.

My widget just says "Music", not Apple Music, like the app does. I'd expect it to have all music in there but since I do sub to the service it's not a total waste.

I've no idea what my Music widget is doing...it seems to be only showing things i've asked to be played via my Amazon Echo which is connected to Apple Music and even then hasnt updated and is showing the same things it has done since i first started with iOS4 on PB4.

This question keeps getting asked, haha. Only shows up if there’s rain in the forecast.
Interesting.... I had rain in my area yesterday and didn't spot it. There's some forecast this afternoon so I'll keep an eye on it.
