Is you Carrot widget updating? It only updates for me if and when i open the app. Native weather widget is working fine for me.

Do you have background app refresh on for CARROT Weather?

What Tier of services within CARROT Weather are you subscribed to?

Data refresh is tied to both of those.

Question for anyone using Widget Wizard:

If you're using the calendar option with upcoming events, does it show empty days or is there an option to only show days with upcoming events?

Oh man I’m gonna spend way too much time trying to find a layout I like.

One of the main reasons I permanently switched from Android to Apple was the insane amount of time I spent with launchers and creating my home screens and themes. You can get so specific. My home screen wallpaper was a lighting bug in a bottle, and I actually only had a few icons on the home screen, (no dock) and I was able to edit the icon pictures using that same lighting bug wallpaper so they fit and blended with the home screen wallpaper almost exactly. The icons were basically invisible. It was so awesome until I realized I spent several hours and slowed my phone down a bit with all the launchers, themes and icon packs running on top of TouchWiz which was running on top of stock Android... I think it was around that time I went from Galaxy S3 to iPhone 5 (my first iPhone).

I guess I prefer simplicity.

If I remember correctly that wallpaper was on 6/6s iPhone displayed in Apple store. Ive had it since then. If you PM me your email i can email it to you.

Perfect! However, I can't seem to PM you. Am I missing something?

Edited:
Never mind. Found it. Thanks!

Third Party widgets is what I was waiting for. Makes them much more useful. When I went over to Android for a lil while with the Note 9 I hated the way it did widgets. However, I’m like Apple’s widgets.

On the Note 9 I thought it looked gaudy and just didn’t care for them at all. On iOS 14 it’s different.

Battery Grapher is available on App store.

I keep it simple... Couple of stacked widgets (Widget Wizard agenda is stacked with commonly used reminders lists) New TripIt widget is stacked with US and UK weather. TripIt widget is lame, only one size. Nothing with a trip agenda like their previous widget. Siri Suggestions "just gets me" Really happy how that works

"Old" widget area has enhanced agenda view.(Widget Wizard)

Oh, I already knew going into this that my layout was going to be constantly changing. We benefit from stuff having to be only 2x2, 4x4, 4x6 and the limitation of not being able to make clear ones like on Android. Just set it up as you go and focus on the functions over aesthetics. There's already developers holding them back for just the people paying into their subscriptions anyway because they can't afford the people who will drop them once something else comes along or just want things to switch between.

Assuming you meant "2x2, 2x4 and 4x4"...

Would love to see the option to remove the name under the widget, and a transparent background for the widget would also be nice... but I will take this for now.

Yeah, sorry, it is 2x4 and 4x4. I would like to get rid of the names under the widgets too, but it probably wouldn't look good next to the icons the way it is now.

Looks cool and all but I am so used to where my apps are by habit over the years. I just had to remove them again

So much this. They just look strange to me.

And I’m struggling to understand the functionality outside of the weather app to check weather at a glance.

The photos one looks nice bud you can’t chose what pictures are displayed and all it does it open the photos app. Which is what the photos icon does anyway.

The battery one would be cool if you could remove the battery icon from the status bar. But since you can’t it just shows information already on the screen.

Smart Stack. You can’t add or remove things from the stack, so it’s not very smart after all.

Is anyone else triggered by this huge blank space where the app page dots are?

You could fit another row of apps there or spread the rows out to how it used to be.

This area is the most valuable space on the home screen as it is the easiest for your finger to reach. Guiding users to use one main home screen and the app library for everything else but taking such a big step backwards on the main home screen functionally and from a design point of view this cavern of space?? It does not make sense at all.

Regarding Smart Stack, you can remove and add different widgets.

Unless I’m not understanding what you’re saying, long press on the Smart Stack, click on edit Smart Stack, and then you get this:

You can also add widgets to Smart Stack by going to the widgets page, choose a widget and then hold down and then drag the widget on top of your Smart Stack. The widget must be the same size as your Smart Stack.
