In all fairness, pretty much all phones in the first 6 months of usage have their "prime" battery life. I have been team Plus/Max ever since the 6S so always had at least decent battery life. It's just that I really got tired of big phones. On the other side, all my friends that had the regular Pros had significantly less battery life. One of them has the 14 Pro, says it now barely goes through a full day and he is a very light user.

Will not buy anything before the end of 2025, so will have the chance to see how the 16e feels 6 months later and compare it to the 17 Pro. If Apple increases the 17 Pro to a 3800-3900 mAh, I might be tempted. Kinda of really want that 1TB storage. We'll see. Will follow this thread in the meantime.

Pretty good going. Just going to plug the charger in since early Sunday morning 🔋

Just charged mine for the first time in 6 days. Less usage than most (an hour or so a day replying to emails, some photos, and calls) but still noteworthy.

Was charged to 90% and I put it back on the charger at 6%. On WiFi maybe 50% of the time.

Confession: I was ranting about the 16e. A lot. I think it was mainly because I was looking forward to the new "SE" so much and then: THE PRICE TAG! I still think it's 100€ too much.
BUT: A lovely someone bought it for me, knowing how much I would love this thing.
And I do. Always been a Pro Max user, great cameras, great screen etc...But I realized that I prefer "less phone", simplicity, and a nice design that doesn't look and feel like jewelry.
I'm curious how things will develop but for now I couldn't be happier.
It's such a joy to hold this in my hand after all these years of heavy bricks...
And then the 17 comes around in autumn and... I will change my mind again, haha!

Yeah, I mean, the pictures shared in this thread look really good to me. I’m willing to bet the phone’s camera satisfies most any normal user’s needs. And then some.

If the iPhone 17s arrive with those major camera bumps as predicted then the 16e might just end up being the best looking iPhone on the market.

Its clean design is really rare in the world of smartphones with pocketability and one-hand use probably being the best there is.

I like it more and more.

The 16e is already the best looking iPhone in the market! And if they’ll make a smaller version (5.4-5.8”), then it will truly be the best pocketable and one-hand use phone.

Someone on another forum posted a screenshot of >15h of screen time.

It's funny- all the tech reviewers who pounced on the 'this phone sucks' video opportunities are following suit with the 'I was wrong' cash cows. Feel bad for those who actually make purchasing decisions based on these folks.

Today I finally received my iPhone 16e. I should have received it on Friday, but... So far, the experience is pretty good. I haven't been able to test the camera in depth yet because I haven't had time, but I'd say that indoors, for example, I think it captures less light in photos than my iPhone 13 mini (possibly because the sensor is smaller). It's not a big issue for me; I'm just mentioning it out of curiosity. I'll see if I can give the photography section a little more in-depth analysis tomorrow. Compared to my previous phone, the performance improvement is noticeable, but not much (which is obvious; in reality, my iPhone 13 mini was very good, its only issue was the battery). As soon as it arrived, I put a Spigen case and screen protector on it (I'd never tried this brand before). This is the first time I've restored an iCloud backup to set up my phone (I always used to install everything from scratch, but with age, it gets more and more lazy), and the restore went well, except for the banking apps and WIPR (an app to remove ads and such). Overall, I'm very happy with the phone so far, although it's "more of the same" (at least I've changed the wallpaper to make it look like I've got a brand new phone, because otherwise, despite the size change, I'd say I'd barely notice it, except when I took it out of my pocket).

I'm updating to say that I'm experiencing audio dropouts via BT on my 16e (I've never had Bluetooth issues before with my SE 2016/SE 2020/13 mini). I have an Apple Watch 10, and when connecting the phone to the car via BT to listen to music, I've experienced continuous audio dropouts. Later, when I was walking outside and connected my AirPods, a notification popped up right at the beginning and the audio cut out, then it didn't stop again (I only had the AirPods on for 10 minutes), but this has never happened to me before. I'm leaving a link to this website where these issues are mentioned. In my case, I ALWAYS have my Apple Watch connected via BT, and then also my headphones, car, etc. I hope they fix it soon...

Again I saw the 16e, and the price dropped to €689, so I hope it will continue to go down in the coming months...

I also saw 16 next to it, and somehow it looked a bit bigger although they both the same size.

I had the same feeling. Maybe it's the slightly rounded corners and the 2 cameras that makes it look bigger.
The 16e looks "flatter", sleeker. I like that.

My iPhone 16 is now almost seven months old. I bought it when it was released. It works perfectly fine, but I'm tempted to try a 16e. The normal thing would be to either just keep the 16, or upgrade to a 16 Pro. But the Pro line-up doesn't appeal to me. I use my camera, but I don't use the camera's features. I point and shoot. I've never fine-tuned my camera, not even when I had a 15 Pro. So it's a waste. On top of that, I really want to get rid of Camera Control, I've hated that button from day one.

I think the 16e is really well designed. I love that there is only 1 lens, it looks so clean, and it is a bit lighter than my 16, and even lighter than the 16 Pro. And best of all - no Camera Control. MagSafe is my only concern. But I plan on throwing on a Spigen Enzo Amarid case, with a built-in MagSafe magnet so I can continue to use MagSafe. Other than that, I don't see what I'm missing....

Has anyone else downgraded - or maybe someone upgraded from an older Pro model to the 16e?

That's exactly what it is. The rounded edges on the regular 16 make it feel slightly smaller in hand than the 16e.

iPhone 16 is slightly larger than the 16e.

I shifted from a 15 Pro to the 16e.

MagSafe is a non-issue for me because I mainly used it for holders and not chargers and had a MagSafe case anyway.

I also hated the camera control button when I tried a 16 and 16 Pro in the Fall - and not even the fact that it simply didn’t work great. I just didn’t like another gap/recessed button to worry about hitting. Love the simpler / lighter form factor of the 16e.

Battery life has been a significant improvement from the 15 Pro.

I never take .5 ultra wide photos, but did use the 3x optical zoom for videos in specific situations with kids’ stuff. It came in handy for that. So I might miss that once those less common situations arise.

Going from 120hz to 60hz was tough for a few days but now 60hz feels smooth - you just have to allow your eyes/brain to forget the 120hz. That won’t be an issue for you since you’re 60hz already.

I liked Dynamic Island, but it’s not affecting me negatively to be without it.

I never needed the UWB chip, but Murphy’s Law dictates I’ll need it soon… 😉

Totally agree. Camera Control is more of a hassle than it is useful. I've tried many times to activate the camera when I pick up my iPhone because I have to press the CC button. So I end up holding/picking up my iPhone awkwardly all the time to avoid pressing the button. I could disable it - but then the big cutout I have on my otherwise cool Caudabe case makes NO sense.

I'm actually quite happy with the battery life in my regular 16, but any improvement is welcome. The difference from 120 to 60hz won't be a problem, since my 16 also only has 60hz. But I could see the difference when I went from 15 Pro to 16.

I feel the same way about Dynamic Island. I thought it was smart enough - but I don't really use it, so I can live with the old-fashioned notch. Luckily it's the small version, and not the one from the X - 12 series.

Speaking of the UWB chip...

Questions for all iPhone 16e owners:

1)
Right now on my iPhone 16 I can always see the battery on my AirPods 4, even when the case is closed and I'm not using my AirPods. Is that feature tied to the UWB chip? Or is it the chip in my AirPods that provides the feature regardless of which iPhone I'm using?

2) Second question. I use Standby mode on my bedside table. Right now I can activate the screen by tapping the table lightly. Is that still possible on the iPhone 16e?

These are two features I'd rather not lose, so it's important to get that clarified before I jump into a 16e 😅
