Was at an Apple Store in the UK and saw the iPhone 16e on display alongside other models. Amusingly they were on MagSafe stands but resting against them (kept falling off). Apple has become so big and disorganised, removing MagSafe clearly wasn’t communicated with the store/marketing team who plan the stands and layout.

Had my 16e 3 weeks now & accumulated 13 cycles.

Battery life has been great and never has it required a top up charge to make it to the next day, having about 35-40% left when it goes back on charge in the mornings.

Haven't been to an Apple Store in a while but according to this Macrumors article they should have had a "work around" for displaying iPhone 15e models:

I too now have a 16e - thanks in no doubt to the experiences of many who do in this thread.

My mini review:
  • Why did I get it? I like the relatively compact light form factor with a massive battery life. I figure that we're all going to start using our phones soon, like the character in 'Her' so I don't need big screen. I watch TV on an actual big TV. Hate social media. I am indifferent to camera control after using it on the 15 pro max. Don't have MagSafe, don't care either. Can live without ultrawideband findmy. I mostly use it for taking regular lens photos, always think that the ultra wide camera makes photos like you're on some sort of psychedelic, so I don't miss that. And sure, I would like a zoom lens (but see below).
  • If you come from an older regular iPhone (or an SE) it's going to be noticeably better. I came from an iPhone 13 and it's so much faster. Way, way faster. iOS 18 feels really nice.
  • If you've had a pro phone for years, of course you can't downgrade and you'll look at the specs and will hate the 16e. But if you haven't ever gone pro, you don't know what you're missing (but see below).
  • The camera is great for regular snaps, as many on this thread have demonstrated. And you know, most 'regular' people just do snaps or quick video shots and they want it to look great out of the box. They don't mess around with the onscreen camera controls (I doubt that they even know it exists). I am getting some fantastic shots, which look so much better than my 13. And this is where I admit to 'cheating' a little bit - my partner has a fully loaded iPhone 16 max 16, so any zoom shots etc. ... I'm using hers!
  • And as a follow on from this - she has the AOD on all the time and I don't miss having that (I have a watch with an AOD, so I don't need it on my phone). And whilst the 120hz screen is nice, the 60hz one on a fast modern processor isn't so far behind as iOS and the A class processors are so tuned so well. Having said that I like the compact form factor of the 16e, of course I like the big screen of the 16 pro max. But I don't like the weight and the general heft. Now if Apple can solve this, maybe next time I might be temped to size up.
  • It weighs really light - it's noticeably lighter from my 13.
  • Battery life is really really good.
  • 5g speed seems to be exactly the same as my 13.
  • The white silver chassis - which I have - is really beautiful and minimal (with its one recessed camera lens). Shame that iPhones are still so delicate that we need to swaddle them in cases. And good luck holding the iPhone 12 design for any length of time without a case and those sharp edges anyway.
  • Loving the action button. Much more value it than the camera control.
  • Apple Intelligence. It's there. I guess it will get useful?
So I'm very happy with my purchase, but I know that many here will pity me. But don't worry, I'm really ok!

how are the edges when holding the phone naked?

Welcome to the 16e club! Nice review and thoughts that echo mine and many others in here that also have the 16e 😄

Had mine 3 weeks now and love it just the same if not more than when I first seen and held it lol

Just installed iOS 18.4 RC this evening and it’s running perfect on it. Best it’s been!

I think a case negates some of the benefits of such a light phone. I don't think it really is a necessity as people say. Be brave and try going caseless fellas - 16e is just the phone to experiment with. 🤠

Sure, I'll be brave enough to go without a case when you send me a new 16e. 👍

In iOS 18.4 RC my 16e's Bluetooth issues seem to have been fixed.

That's good to know. I experienced this for the first time a few days ago, watching a movie through the Apple TV app on my phone using my AirPods Pro 2's. I've never experienced it elsewhere (like in my car listening to music, daily), and it wasn't the end of the world. But I keep hearing this same thing about 18.4, which is encouraging!

Some photos from this morning (not very good, just to check the camera capabilities)

(Why are some images too big to upload, if I took them all with the same settings? Of a total of 9 photos, 4 are too big)

What architectural marvel is this?
🤣🤣🤣
I know it's not the best skyline, but we'll have to settle for it. It's Parla, south of Madrid, the new area. The old town, unfortunately, looks more like... a mix between Sarajevo after the war, as if it's been through a hurricane and a couple of pandemics.

Nice shots though! Love the depth of blue skies. Interesting structure.

As @klasma said it must be to do with the content in the image? I definitely can’t upload 48mp images here and some 24mp will upload while others won’t! I always change to large now so I know they’ll get uploaded 😁
