IBM CPD-220. It can do 2048*1536 @ 75Hz (easily handle full 1080 HD) & is one of the only CRTs to have a DVI connection. £98 including delivery, should be here tomorrow :)

I have a 17" LCD & three 15" LCDs but they're simply too small & too low-res, plus the colour reproduction isn't good enough. I pulled a 20" Trinitron CRT & a 21" Diamondtron CRT from a skip last year but whilst they both have small faults, they reminded me how much I prefer CRTs to LCDs. So as I just sold an iBook I found in the same skip for £76 on eBay I figured I would put the money towards a new monitor!

I did. I equated "I've gotten so many noise complaints" as disrespectful to your neighbors.

But then surely every channel would get the same feed? I.e. it wouldn't really be surround sound but the same thing coming out of every speaker?

I was looking at one of those, but then before I was gonna pull the trigger on a set, a 24" Sony GDM-FW900 landed in my lap for free. I dont really see the point of the DVI port, as my buddy has one of those, and its a DVI-A port IIRC. IBM does make an amazing monitor. Hope ya enjoy. The 19" IBM that I have (P97) has been awesome since I got it new a few years back.

Bought a used copy of Kafka's Complete Stories off Amazon Marketplace for my English class and pre-ordered a limited run, autographed copy of Sun Kil Moon's new album "April" (from the record label site). It contains a second bonus disc with tracks only available on the limited run album until a separate EP is released in a couple months :)

I will hate you for the rest of my life for landing a free FW900! Still, I actually prefer 4:3 to widescreen & the IBM was half the price of the cheapest FW900 I've ever seen on eBay. Hopefully it'll arrive today :)
