LOVE em!

I'm going to go against what everyone's said and say that I like them!
Everyone has their own style and I pity the losers who call them clown shoes; as they probably don't know a lick about style.
I personally wouldn't rock them, but to each their own.

Samsung Touch of Color T200HD, my parents gave me $300 for an LCD monitor and by adding $100 of my own, I got a great monitor and an HDTV.

Which one?

Anyway, congratulations. That's supposed to be a damn fine laptop. One of the best netbooks, if not THE best netbook (that isn't over $1000 and made by Lenovo or Fujitsu). I probably would have waited for the Dell model to appear before buying one, but what you have is still great.

How large are the Aspire One models, and are any of the parts you replaced considered "user replaceable" parts? How much RAM do you have now?Why the Aspire One over the EeePC 9xx?

Hi

I had a look at other similiar netbooks and its one of the best spec'd with the cheapest price. I was looking at the dell but the lack of a proper hdd put me off. The eee pc's are a bit too cheap looking and feeling. The acer and msi wind feel much better built. The acer feels very mac like which I like.

The acer has a 8.9in screen so its very very small.

I'm not sure what acer's view on upgrading the hdd and ram is. I'm not bothered either way as the chances of me needing to return it are hopefully slim.

I've now go 1.5gb of ram in it. The new ram was a single 1gb stick, sadly the other stick is soldered in. Acer make it far hard than it needs to be upgrading the ram. A simple removable panel on the bottom would make life very much easier. There is already one for the 3g card. So it wouldn't have made life hard for the design team.

Sigg - Red Alert
I understand they made those to deter ppl from buying plastic water bottles and to prevent polluting the landfills but... Aluminum is bad for your body. When you ingest substances from aluminum containers, small amounts of aluminum enter your bloodstream which can early onsets of Alzheimer's. That's one of the reasons why doctors tell you to stay away from deodorant with aluminum in it.

So the dilemma is this - pollute the Earth with plastic bottles or pollute your body.
