The eee pc's are a bit too cheap looking and feeling. The acer and msi wind feel much better built. The acer feels very mac like which I like.

The acer has a 8.9in screen so its very very small.

Oh, I was asking because the EeePC 901 and Aspire are both made by Acer, both 9", and as far as I know, have similar features. I don't really know the difference between the 2 units, or why one favours the EeePC over the Aspire, or vice versa.

Anyway, very cool. I wish Apple made one, but maybe a 10.9" model instead. I tried a (really expensive) Sony model, and the keyboard didn't feel at all like a compromise. Also, the bezel around the LCD was small, so it was probably just a tad bigger than yours.

But it was also really really expensive, so........more wishful thinking than anything else.

I understand they made those to deter ppl from buying plastic water bottles and to prevent polluting the landfills but... Aluminum is bad for your body. When you ingest substances from aluminum containers, small amounts of aluminum enter your bloodstream which can early onsets of Alzheimer's. That's one of the reasons why doctors tell you to stay away from deodorant with aluminum in it.

So the dilemma is this - pollute the Earth with plastic bottles or pollute your body.

Thanks for your concern, but Sigg bottles have a non-leaching coating baked onto the interior that keeps any bits of anything from contaminating the water. They've really got it all figured out.
(I own two and swear by them.)
(No Alzheimer's yet, just run-of-the-mill piss-poor memory.)

I'm on the look out for a slighly higher res screen that would be possible to mod into place. Haven't found anything suitable though.

The eee is great but the plastics and the looks aren't as good as the latter netbooks released by MSI, Acer and others.

I wish apple made one, but it will never happen. Jobs won't make a computer that cheap so you have to make do with a hackintosh. Sad, but that's how it is.

My 250gb hdd has now arrived for me to get modding again. Trying to decide whether or not to upgrade the wireless to wireless N while I'm in there. I've got a spare one in a 1st gen MBP here waiting to be sold. Hmm taking apart two laptops in a day will be fun I suppose.

Just bought my new ferrari... :apple:

There appear to be roffles in my waffles.

Look at his signature. Ban much?

Anyways, my last purchase was an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 CPU fan/heatsink for my PC. Unfortunately my friend and I messed up the thermal past so at 100% CPU load my computer suffers a hardware failure. Time to redo it!
