Wow, once again not a purchase but a nice few bills.

got a 300$ ticket in Portland today for a cop hearing my subwoofers over "2 blocks" away.

but on the bright side, the subs BUMP. 3 clarion 15" each with their own 1000watt amp. So more like 45" pushed by 3,000 watts! bahaaahahaaaaa

i like to stand out :D

Apparently...

I have 2 12" MTX Thunder 5500, but I like a nice balance in my audio, not a mess of bass.

Could someone explain what is so great about Moleskines? I've read some reviews and while the covers are great, it seem they skimp on the quality of the actual paper. I'm always on the lookout for a good journal/notebook and have looked at Moleskines a couple times but couldn't spend that much on paper.

So in other words, overpriced, loved by some and hated by most?

Yes, they're overrated and overpriced. Doesn't stop people from paying a LOT for their notebooks though. They're trendy, and there are always people out there who will buy it.

This is coming from a Moleskine user. I buy Moleskines because after looking around in Australia, Moleskines were the only way to get a tiny notebook with blank paper (i.e. no lines, no grid). I needed it to have a soft cover so that it went into my pocket. I couldn't even find a cheap, tiny spiral bound notebook with blank pages, despite the fact that spiral-bound notebooks are found everywhere!!! They all have lined pages, and aren't small enough.

Moleskine gets my money because they're the only choice.

However, people who buy Moleskines with lined pages are paying too much. Do they know that there are a LOT of nice looking alternatives sold at most Indigo bookstores? Buy a small leather notebook cover ($20 to $40, I guess) and some notepad refills ($5 each), and you're set. Refill notepads with grid or lined pages are easy to find. These notebooks look classier, too. ;)

Two years of crane hunting have officially ended; I now own a 1:400 model of every Lufthansa aircraft from the last ten years. I ordered it from the UK and saved money due to the current exchange rate. So now that the Brits have exploited the US dollar for so long, I'll take my turn and take advantage of that weak pound. Go figure.

Just curious, how much do those run, on average? I assume they lean towards the expensive side.

I wouldn't mind starting a collection but am afraid my girlfriend would kill me if I created an airfield in my bedroom.

It really depends on the manufacturer and scale. My collection is almost completely 1:400 and I stick to Phoenix, Herpa, and Gemini Jets since their models are completely metal. The retail prices tend to average around $30 a piece and a lot of small hobby shops will jack up the prices even higher. However, there are some good retailers online with very good prices that are usually quite a bit lower than the retail prices. An example would be jetwaymodels.com. I also use the database section at wings900 as users make catalogues of their collections and there's a subset of said catalogue containing everything that they have for sale. So you just run a search in the model database for the one that you're looking for and it tells you if anyone's selling it; someone usually is.

Of course, the prices increase a lot over time as most of the models are not produced in over 2000 units.

this is the first time a bought a notebook and i bought this one because there is no other better suited for a trip to a specific city. just type "Moleskine city notebook" in google. You'll see why.

When i return from prague i'll post a review ;)

I'm afraid it's not actually anywhere near as simple as that. You have to consider the efficiency of 15" in comparison to a 45" & also that power/volume is not a linear relationship, but rather logarithmic. But nonetheless, that's quite a lot of bass :)

Groovy baby!

I have all 3 on DVD too and figured it was time to upgrade. These are 3 of my favorite movies. Now I just gotta get Office Space on Blu, I think it comes out in February
