Rubbers:
Brit=erasers
Merkin=condoms

Let me try and get this right...
Obviously a Merkin is a pubic wig but it can also be a term for an American. So 'rubbers' in the UK are Erasers to Americans but 'rubbers' to Americans are condoms...does that make sense?
Basically it was supposed to be a Brit-to-American clash.

A British friend of mine always refers to Americans as 'Merkins for short, not for the word's definition. So, that's where I get it from.
