They ruin lots of phones...

Panasonic have taken the Apple pricing model :)

Good choice with the LX3 basically the same camera as the Leica D-Lux 4 but a little cheaper.

I am thinking about buying one too for those instances where it is impractical to take my Canon DSLR with me.

It looks like a great camera, I'm excited. I've read lots of reviews which state exactly what you've said- users who bought the camera as a more practical alternative to their SLRs. I'm coming from the other direction though, I've had a point and shoot IXUS for years and have toyed with the idea of buying an SLR for a long time... so this is a stepping stone for me to get a bit more experimental :)
I thought the bulk of the SLR would be more of a hindrance than anything.

PS. I was in London Heathrow earlier today and had a look around for the LX3 to see if I could get a bargain with the current Euro/ Pound exchange rate... was a little relieved when I didn't find any, since I already have this one ordered online!

You really should take advantage of the Euro/Pound ridiculousness. A friend from Belgium bought a Nikon D300 DSLR in London in sterling and saved 1/3 on the Euro equivalent. Another friend from Hong Kong bought a Canon 50D and an L lens when she was over here and made a similar saving on the HK$ equivalent.

People like me are properly screwed right now because my English pounds have no purchasing power in Eurozone or the USA :(

How is that phone?
I've seen a lot of people with it around my campus.

In the past, I've never really been fond of the interface on Verizon cell phones.

well the interface is essentially the same, but LG redesigned the graphics so it's a little better.....then again i dont mind the verizon interface. but otherwise its a sweet phone. the internal keyboard is really easy to type on.

its for a hookah. you put tobacco under that piece of metal with the holes. then on the metal hole piece you put a coal. then it closes up to keep the heat trapped in/protect from wind(if you are outside) or like a ceiling fan. also good incase someone pulls the hookah over, the coal won't fall on the floor and make burn marks
