Its a beautiful day in the neighborhood!!

Just received my email that my Coronado Solarmax 90 has shipped. I purchased it back in July during the Coronado Half Off summer sale and so many people ended up ordering one that it caused a huge backorder problem. I was beginning to think it would never ship but I got an email last week from Adorama that their final shipment of back orders was supposed to be coming in and they haven't let me down. I have wanted a solar telescope since I was a child and they are so damn expensive that this half off sale during the summer was really my first real chance at getting one as it was Coronado's biggest sale ever. I took advantage and have been patiently waiting ever since. 7 months later and its on the way!! I am the happiest guy on these boards today!!

Excellent taste my friend!! Ceylon is a great color. I love the old 1600/2002 BMWs. I owned a '74 2002 for a couple of years myself, but it was a second car for me and finding parking for it on the streets of LA was getting tiresome. It will not be my last 2002, however. I'm just waiting for the day I have a house with a garage, then I'll find another.

Check out the site 2002ad for some great eye candy! (not affiliated). They've started converting 2002s to Electric Vehicles. How cool is that?

I've got the same one :)
GO KIMI!!!

My friend brought me one back from last year's Monaco race.
I was so upset I could not join them with my work schedule :(

I am waiting for Ferrari to release the new caps.
I wonder what number Kimi will get? 3 or 4?

This hat has number 1 on the side. I wonder too. I guess how he finished the year, so 1 for Lewis, 2 for Heikki, 3 for Kimi 4 for Massa

Cool car :)
I'd love to get one one day. There's a great account of a restoration of one (a 2002tii I think) somewhere on the internet, makes me want to do the same myself! The finished car looked fantastic.

New cars just have no character. so might as well drive something with a little amount of Flair.

Cheers

WOW!! Now I want one!!!

Well fortunately for people interested in these the price has been permanently cut. The Solarmax 90 was 10,000 just 8 months ago and that was actually the price when I purchased it, I just got it during Coronado's half off sale so I only paid 5000. However as soon as the sale ended they permanently dropped thier prices and it now costs 5999. Kind of took a little bit of the fun out ofthe fact that I thought I had saved 5000 but I really dont care, I still saved 1000 off its current price. They do have a Solarmax 60 which is a little smaller and that price has now come down to around 2300 if I am not mistaken. It used to be around 5000 so either way you go your paying around 40-50% less than they cost just 8 months ago. They are still expensive but damn worth it imo.

I immediately looked up the prices when I saw your pictures. I'd absolutely love one but it's well beyond my reach right now :). I am pretty excited for you (especially seeing how enthusiastic you are) and can't wait for you to post countless pictures on macrumors for me to ogle at :D!

Yeah it sucks that they are so expensive and the price is exactly why it has basically taken me 30 years to get to the point where I could afford one. As you can imagine my attempts to get my parents to buy me one when I was young didn't go over very well at all. I actually called my mother when I ordered it and told her, remember that telescope I always wanted when I was younger, I finally got it, lol. She just laughed.

Anyways I will be anxiously awaiting its arrival and am already looking into imaging systems for it so ill definitely be posting some pics up here real soon!!

I don't know if the numbers associated with that lens are similar to the numbers used for SLR lenses, but I wonder if a 600 mm f/5.6 lens, which would pick up a LOT more light than those telescopes and have similar reach, would be better than the Solarmax 60 or 40 or whatever. The extra large aperture woudl also allow me to take photos at higher shutter speeds, which may decrease blur due to planetary motion, the Earth's rotation, etc.

I learnt this from watching Oprah.

My iPhone fell in a glass of orange soda by accident =\ so the upper screen does not respond to my finger while the lower screen works. And I was really drunk and started messing with iTunes and I accidently deleted all my contact lists. So I have all these random numbers in my recent call list.

So I am getting a blackberry curve for T-Mobile. iPhone chapter is closed.
