have you already gotten this or just ordered it? i've been looking at the kata brand and this is one of the ones i was interested in. curious how you like it
Yes, I've been using it a lot.
On the previous page, I said: I got the mid-size Kata 3N1 bag first, because I like being able to go from a sling to a backpack, but it just wasn't for me. It was way too deep for my compact body and lenses and the design made access to certain things difficult, plus it didn't have enough extra storage space even though it was large... not an efficient use of space. I've been really impressed by the design and quality of the 467i. Ample storage space, yet slim profile, and not an oversized camera compartment. I like the tripod holder, too, but I wish they had put the mesh pocket on both sides so you could still have a water bottle if you had your tripod. The shoulder straps aren't very comfortable, for me, but I got some dark gray sheepskin covers for them that are made for seat belts, and they're much better now.
I very much like the bag and am keeping it. It fits my needs well and it's quite well made. I've tried a few Kata bags, and each one certainly does cater to a different set of needs, so you might have to try a few, too. I don't own many lenses and can't afford to, so I knew I didn't want a bag that can carry a million of them. I'd want that space for other things. This bag's camera compartment can carry a body w/ lens plus 4-5 more lenses. You can also remove the internal camera compartment to use the bag for other things. There is not a dedicated area for SD/CF cards like some Kata bags, but there are a few places you can put them. The two small zipper pockets on the front are roomy. I fit several filters in one and my extra batteries and SD cards in another. The center vertical zipper reveals a large compartment, too, where I put my cleaning supplies, including a big rocket blower, and there is plenty of space left. Then the top compartment can hold even more. But like I said, the bag still has a slim profile and stands upright on the ground by itself. Also, the laptop compartment fits my 17" MBP even though it is made for 15" laptops. I really dig that, with their strap, you can clip the camera to the shoulder straps on the backpack instead of it hanging around your neck, too. Definitely an awesome bag if you want to be able to pack other things along with your camera gear.
