Recently after many failed attempts at watching Bluray disks on my Mac… mainly due to WinDVD 2010 and PowerDVD 10 both crashing in Windows via VM, I settle on a real Bluray player. Too bad I don't have a TV and my Dell monitor doesn't have any processing systems inside (so it can't even scale non-native resolutions (ie: 720p, 1080p, etc.—only 2 resolutions: 1280x800 and 2560x1600).

I also bought a 15ft Super Max Gold-plated HDMI cable (that's what it says on the packaging) for the super max price of $5 shipped. To complete the set, I bought an Toslink optical to RCA coaxial converter and a RCA coaxial to 3.5mm mono cable. So I'm ready to connect the video and the audio.
Those all have arrived, but I can't do anything without the monitor… should get to me by next week—Dell 3008WFP

On an unrelated note, I don't like my new AC adapter, so I bought one of the old style
