This came in the post today:

For those who don't know it's a Vox amPlug. You put it straight into your guitar or, in this case, bass and just connect your headphones. I'm sure the neighbours will appreciate it. Love it to pieces, it sounds fantastic. It also has an aux in so I can play along with my iPod. Great stuff!
:)

I live in a small town where the houses are very close together and the cops are bored, even though I know many of them. I gave away my Marshall 100 watt half stack to the youth center and bought a used 15 watt Crate amp, but even that's too loud for the neighborhood.

I really love the idea of a small headphone amp. I used to have a knockoff of a Scholtz Rockman and that thing was great. It offended nobody and sounded like an amp turned up in a studio.

Could be, it's just a prop... ;)

If I were to bet it being anything-- I would say a tiny FM radio. Like the kind that you can buy at the dollar store for 1 buck and are about 1/4 the size of what Will is holding. Could probably assume that cerca this photoshoot, standalone, hand-held, portable radios were around this size.

Though it could also just be a prop. I would think the prop is mocking a portable radio though, and not a then-nonexistent iPod. :)

Sorry to hear about the volume problems. I gave up drums and switched to bass for similar reasons ;)

I'd definitely recommend one of these. Been playing on it all day. Married to a decent set of headphones or earbuds it's fantastic. It even just occurred to me I could take my bass to work and practice at lunchtime! Read some reviews on Amazon, the guitar one's seem just as good :)

I just picked up a 867Mhz DP PowerMac G4 MDD!!!with maxed out 2GB of ram and a 120GB HD,and a brand new Pioneer DL DVD/CD burner, with Airport and the ATI Radeon 9000 with 64MB VRAM,and did I mention I picked it up for $50 :D it had no OS though,so I took a chance on it and threw in my Leopard disk and it installed perfectly, and now I'm updating it. :D What to do with my PM G4 Quicksilver now though.....hmm......

I like the idea of a small, portable amp like your Vox. Just playing a solidbody electric guitar does not produce enough volume. When I got a semi-hollowbody, a copy of a Gibson/Epiphone 335, it didn't have that much more volume.

The character of both guitars really come to surface when it's plugged in, whether it's a earphone amp or large amplifier.

The one thing I miss about acoustic guitar, and I don't currently have one right now, is that you get pretty much the full effect of an acoustic right then and there. Of course playing inside a room gets a better tone than playing it outside on a very windy day with crashing waves at the beach. But the latter is a lot of fun anyway. :)

Bleh, MW2 is old news. It wasn't even very good when it came out. More of the same. Bad Company 2 is where its at! :)

I gave BF2 a chance. I hated it. Different strokes...

However, I'm looking forward to Fallout: New Vegas, GT5, and Black Ops.

Renewed my XM Everything Package in my new car after my 3 month trial shut off last night. $77 for the whole year after a little complaining, they wanted $175

Jeez how did you manage that? My trial is coming up soon, wouldn't mind paying $77 for the year instead of the $226 with XMTraffic and Weather.
