Although I've never owned anything made by Acer, but I've always thought of Acer as a low-end brand. liljohnny51, Krafty, what's your opinion of these monitors and Acer in general?

I've only had my acer now for a day. But so far i love it. The colors are right on and it's not cheaply made either. I have it for dual display on my imac and it looks almost as good as my imac's screen. The only thing i don't like is the touch buttons and that the screen only tilts. But those are very minor things.

i seen it for $199 on newegg and my old 19" AOC monitor was getting a little outdated so i grabbed this. Very happy that i did. I'll buy acer again.

I actually liked the movie. Wasn't as bloody or gory as I thought it would be.

Phenomenal lens! You love it for sure.

Mind shipping me a spare? :D
Hah! You and I both! Funny story actually...we originally sent in the quote for 36, 21.5" iMacs with WIRED keyboards and mice because there would be danger of them being walked out with. We had to requote with Apple, and got a new rep who didn't carry over our old order, so the ones we just received all came with wireless keyboards and Magic Mice.

Upon alerting Apple of the mistake, they emailed us with shipping confirmation of 36 wired keyboards and mice...and instructed us to keep the 36 wireless sets that were shipped with the iMacs.

So long story short. We got $140.00 x 36 computers = $5,040.00 worth of free accessories.

We're debating keeping them as Bluetooth keyboards for the rest of the high school, or selling them and making some money back. On top of that, I encouraged them to try and sell the iMac boxes, as those could probably bring $20-$30.00 each.

Potential for $6,000.00 back on our order is AMAZING. Especially because we already got six iPads for $0.26 more than our original quote which was ONLY the iMacs. I'm floored. Haha

Damn good deal? Sorry to break it to you, but you do realize they just released a new 360 SKU?
Black, Slimmer Design, 250GB Harddrive, Built in WiFi, Kinnect Ready, and supposedly cured of the RROD epidemic. $299.99 plus tax, if you ask me, it'd of been a better deal to get the new one

Maui Jim Pilot Gold Polarised

Was going to get a pair of Serengeti Drivers but instead got these Maui Jim Pilot Gold Polarised, I love how they wrap around the head so that the glare doesn't come in from the sides. Everything looks vivid and clear.

How is a $299 (console ONLY) a better deal than a 360 elite with two games for $272 after tax? Besides, I already know about the latest model, and I dont want that finger print magnet nor do I care for wifi when my entertainment center has two ethernet jacks. :) So yeah, good deal IMO.

Not quite happy with the mouse as its response is slow and sluggish compared to my wired gaming mouse.
The two other things however, are awesome!

I guess I'm going to have to go over to Best Buy (the only place we've got that sells tech) and have a look at the current offering of monitors to get a feel for what's what in the real world. Good to hear that the Acer is living up to your expectations. I think I'd prefer to have something with mechanical buttons, I'm just not real big on the touch sensor thing. I think the only way to get a monitor that does more than tilt is to get something in the highend arena like the Dell Ultra Sharps, etc. or put it on an arm if the monitor allows a VESA mount since a lot of the cheaper ones don't. Thanks for the update.

Woo, 15" Hi-Res Matte MBP i7!
saved $400 through the refurb store!

not my pic

yeah, that looks more like a 17" MBP. Very nice nonetheless. I think I like the silver bezel look better than the black glass from the regular MBPs. It has a bit of understated elegance to it. Looks less flashy and more professional. :)

It's called being future proof (or in the electronics world....a-year-or-two proof)...

Finger print magnet? Because I'm always picking my XBOX up and rubbing my hands over it....

Anyway, to stay on topic:

Future proof? Not really a real term with electronics. It's called personal preference and not having $300+ to spend. Why don't people understand preference around here?

Other than the size and the integrated Wi-Fi, there is not a huge difference. The CPU and graphics have the same performance, even if they are combined together and produce less heat. The games won't be faster.

Less chances of a RROD, maybe. But it is not futureproofing. The hard drive is easier to replace for a bigger one, but anyways, in a year or two, there will be a new Xbox model.

Returned my launch day iPhone 4 and went back to VZW and the Bold. As much as I loved the hardware of the iPhone, the signal issues and lackluster AT&T coverage where I work just didn't cut it.

I've heard lots of good things about it, but never been myself. Hrmmm... What did you have that wasn't up to expectations?

The restaurant itself is great. The decor and ambiance are very classy yet homely at the same time. Unfortunately the food just isn't what you pay for. A full-course meal will be very filling, but the dishes they had, for Summerlicious at least, were pretty boring didn't really spark any inspiration. Also the management and waiters can be unattentive and not very talkative. They do have live jazz piano but that's it; no singers or guitar or bass. It's too small of a space for that.

If you're going for a cosy evening dinner, I suggest The Boiler House in the Distillery. A lower price range than Sassafraz (maybe $100-120 per person with drink; full-course), but a much more interesting space (it's an old beer mill), attentive and lively waitresses, full jazz band, and FANTASTIC food that will make you do a double-take. Have the scallops with the pulled pork shoulder. Gastronomical heaven! And in such a large and lively space, it's more laid back, yet still classy.

I would prefer Sassafraz for lunch, though. They have a skylighted area and outdoor patio seating. The Boiler House only has some harsh sunlight coming in from the front door, but they do have outdoor patio seating and a lounge area which is great for drinks.

There is not such thing as future proofing, and there really isn't when it comes to game consoles. The new 360 plays games just as well as a working original 360 does. Not to mention the new 360 has had some overheating problems due to the fact that Microsoft has no idea how to cool a console
