And weren't you the one who thought of selling your MBP because you needed money

Haha I don't have money. My PARENTS DO. Hence the gift. ;) Wish they knew to just buy me an i7 mbp, or an imac 27".

Anyways, giving my mom my ipad. She fell in love - she seems to really want it, so as a return gift, going to let her have my ipad, and skadoosh stand.

Just put in an order for kindle 3rd gen white. The graphite one looks weird.

Ah, very cool! I'll be entering my my senior year at the end of the month - journalism major as well. Although, I'm the "off-brand" journalism :p ... I'm a strat comm major. What sequence are you doing?

Strat comm as well! With a business minor. I enjoy the advertising side of journalism much better. And I still wanted to be in touch with my design side (without having to be an art major).

How could you give up your iPad? Curious because you seem to be the one who really has taken it and fostered it's worth in both portability and functionality.

I would never buy a rock. Even if I had millions of $$$

Ever plan on getting married?
I bet he'll never need to. :D :p
Like I said I wouldn't buy it for myself. But hey if it makes you happy (and girls do love diamonds) then that's all that matters. I would settle for
A nice Omega :D which I think is much worth it.
Not all girls love diamonds. Once you realize we're not all built the same you may find yourself in a rock-buying position, son.

I still value its portability and functionality...but if you could see my mom and how she has taken to it..you would see why I want to give it to her.

My mom is not that computer savvy, but she always wants to go online to learn new things. She just can't get the hang of the mouse and keyboard. It confuses her. When I showed her my ipad she just pointed away at things, used the large onscreen keyboard with ease, and sent off emails and replies in seconds.

For a woman who has done everything to make sure I was happy and taken care of...it is least I can do. She is sensible and does not want to spend too much money (being a immigrant from vietnam nearly 30 years ago, and working hard as a wedding cake designer every day). Therefore, it makes a lot of sense to me to dig in a little and give up one of my many many toys I have to give her something that she can really use as she wants to.

So yes, while I love my iPad, I love my mom more. ;)

P.S. Going to really miss Docs to Go. Oh well!

Damn you and damn this thread!
Just ordered a set of these too. Actually, the old model, since I'll be using it with the 1st gen Nano for Nike +. I am so dang tired of sweat getting in my ears when I run! Especially in this weather.

I need to get some behind the ear active headphones. I still use my wired Sennheisers, which don't hold all that well since I have a larger head. They also sound like complete ass and don't have the integrated volume control.

Where did you guys order your Adidas?

Finally some new batteries for my wireless keyboard and magic mouse. These should last until the apple charger finally gets to New Zealand.

I just got this. I'm a huge Star Wars fan. I also collect the stuff.

I remember wanting one of these back in the 90s when star wars made a comeback in their action figure line. I have a whole cardboard box full of (opened) action figures. This was a bit out of my price range at $5/wk for an allowance.

I can relate to that, but I remember being a kid in the 80's and wanting everything star wars but my family didn't have a lot of money. I am very lucky that I have a great wife that supports my hobbies and is letting me relive my childhood. :D

Had to replace my super old nikes. This time however I actually got fitted for the right pair at the running store.

Also picked up a Nike Plus Sensor Adapter

<3 Asics. I have collapsed arches and as a result, rather wide feet. New Balance and Asics are the only shoes I'll ever run in.

I happen to have an extra Apple charger still in the box from Shanghai. If we can work out a fair deal for both of us, I'll ship it to you. Not sure if you have different electrical outlets, but if so, the prongs are interchangeable, ala MBP's and iPods.

Small world, huh?

I'm much the same way. I'm not a huge fan of writing stories or going on the air; but I love the creative side of the field, and I'm glad we have the strat comm sequence at the school. I wanted to minor in business as well, but since I'm footing my own bill, I couldn't afford it. 'Tis life.

Anyhoo... any chance you'll be taking "Strategic Design & Visuals I" this semester? I'll be a TA for one of the labs...

Shoot me a PM and I'll give you my name. You can send me a Facebook request if you want. Heck, we might know each other. But if you'd rather keep this internet stuff just on the internet, I completely understand :)

Just used up my last 3 k-cups of extra bold coffee today and had this about a year ago ... it was not on Amazon and now today it is! Can't wait because it's going to be a very new flavor for me.

Picked up a pair of Klipsch Groove PM20's today. Out of production, but still quite awesome.
