This is great. Seriously. It's so nice to see people who appreciate their parents enough to give up something that they so obviously want for themselves.
The same thing happened with my Grandmother and my first iPad. I have been trying to get her to adapt to a computer for years and she's so afraid to touch any keys.
I bought my iPad and took it to her house and preloaded some stuff on there and pictures and before I knew it, she was swiping to change pictures and she understood the idea of the home key.
For a woman who asks me to program phone numbers into her basic flip phone, she really took to it quickly.
After that, I just couldn't not let her have it. So I got wireless internet set up in their house and after she gets more comfortable with the iPad, I think i'm going to leave my MBP at her house one day to see how she deals with that.
Thanks
She keeps bragging to her friends what she can do with the iPad, and because it is still relatively new technology her friends are wowed. It's enough to make your heart melt.
I guess that is another great thing about the iPad. Great for people who are not that tech savvy! Really good for anyone! I really will miss being able to hold all my school notes in a place where I can just read it in bed. Need to somehow solve that dilemma...
To be honest, I'm a bit afraid my parents will be pining for me to give up my iPad (which I still haven't even purchased yet) when I visit them in a couple weeks. I'm bringing my father a new Blackberry Bold 9700, but he's always wanted an iPhone (even though he technically needs a Blackberry), and I know he's going to be enamored with my iPad. My mother as well.
Hell, I'll probably do it. It'll just break my heart, then mend it together again. But not completely.
