This is great. Seriously. It's so nice to see people who appreciate their parents enough to give up something that they so obviously want for themselves.

The same thing happened with my Grandmother and my first iPad. I have been trying to get her to adapt to a computer for years and she's so afraid to touch any keys.

I bought my iPad and took it to her house and preloaded some stuff on there and pictures and before I knew it, she was swiping to change pictures and she understood the idea of the home key.

For a woman who asks me to program phone numbers into her basic flip phone, she really took to it quickly.

After that, I just couldn't not let her have it. So I got wireless internet set up in their house and after she gets more comfortable with the iPad, I think i'm going to leave my MBP at her house one day to see how she deals with that.

Thanks :)

She keeps bragging to her friends what she can do with the iPad, and because it is still relatively new technology her friends are wowed. It's enough to make your heart melt.

I guess that is another great thing about the iPad. Great for people who are not that tech savvy! Really good for anyone! I really will miss being able to hold all my school notes in a place where I can just read it in bed. Need to somehow solve that dilemma...

To be honest, I'm a bit afraid my parents will be pining for me to give up my iPad (which I still haven't even purchased yet) when I visit them in a couple weeks. I'm bringing my father a new Blackberry Bold 9700, but he's always wanted an iPhone (even though he technically needs a Blackberry), and I know he's going to be enamored with my iPad. My mother as well.

Hell, I'll probably do it. It'll just break my heart, then mend it together again. But not completely. :p

Get them a used one. I see used ones for pretty decent prices on CL all the time here.

I saw a 64GB wifi & 3G for $480 the other day, with the receipt and all original packaging. Looked pretty legit.

I only wish those sorts of deals would crop up around here! I'm afraid the best deal I can reasonably find is $500 CAD for a new 16GB Wifi-only. Which is enough for me. :) And if my parents want it that badly, I'll just leave it in Shanghai, and buy a new one when I come home.

Apple iPad case.
I know that a lot of people dont like them, but I'm yet to see a thinner folio-style case, which is what I'm looking for. Had to wait 1.5 weeks for the newest shipment... the sold out really quickly here.

Buy yourself another iPad.. haha, that's what I did.

Haha I just might if I can find another at a good price. If not, I think I can wait for the 2nd gen. I wouldn't want to spend anything over $425 since that is what I got my first iPad at.

Anyways posting my second purchase along with my first. Since my mom gave me cash for my S90, putting our combined efforts towards a micro 4/3 camera. Settled on the GF1 which I found for a great deal - and local no less (AND WHITE!). Comes with a 20mm f1.7 pancake lens but I picked up an oly 14-42mm. Not the best lens but at $150, a nice compact wide angle zoom for times when I am lazy to walk around. :D

We were out of coffee so I ordered some in. Whilst I had the credit card in hand I picked up some tequila. We're never out of tequila! ;)

A bottle of the legendary Casa Noble Crystal and a bottle of Oro Azul Reposado.

UE had a Facebook promotion. When they got a set amount of fans, they gave away 2000 pairs for free. After they ran out, they gave put them on sale for $70 for 24 hours.

That's almost as good a deal as the UE Triple.fi 10vi's (MSRP: $419.00) I scored for $99.00 when they were in the Amazon Gold Box

Although yours were free so I think you win in this case :p

This is still going on for august.

Still wouldn't get that pair. Never really fit my ears and was too uncomfortable. Customs are the way to go!

Been posting on this thread a lot! Some more things for my gf1. GGS protector, and a class 10 card. My class 6 16gb SDHC is going to my brother who has taken to his DSLR, which I had incidentally bought for my mom for her cakes. She doesn't know how to use it, but at least my brother likes it.

Still debating about the viewfinder, but I got a padfolio to fit a 5"x8" legal pad to take notes at rotations.
