Good deal! Last year, I purchased an Acer Revo 1600 to be used as an XBMC live box. I think it is the only piece of technology I've happily held onto the longest. You'll be quite amazed at the ION hardware acceleration. Your MKVs will play no problem.

No problem at all. That little ION chip is powerful! Very little CPU usage when watching a full-res MKV. It's quite humorous, actually.

I think you upgrade your computer more often than anyone I know. Even more than the greasy, overly-nerdy, upgrade-and-performance-craving antisocial fiends in computer science programs that I occasionally have the unfortunate consequence of meeting.
