Me and my parents have put money together to buy my step brother his own sword to display at home. He's just been commissioned as a Cornet in The Blues and Royals so we've bought him a sword with his name and date of commissioning acid etched into the blade. Hopefully I'll be following in his footsteps soon
That's really cool. I was a student in London but I didn't pay too much attention in class when us Yankees were taught the basics.
Are they the officers that preside over the guys in red (sentry guards with furry hats) outside of Buckingham Palace and other places or are they
the actual guys in red themselves? Or are all guards of the Queen officers in the British Army? The wiki site on the Blues and Royals didn't seem to clarify the difference, if any, between what us Americans know as the iconic guys in red uniforms (with furry hats) vs. other groups.
I never got to go over to a guard to try and distract him like tourists seem to like to do.
