how was that? a Panera is being built up the street from my college and everyone is raving about it, i've heard their salads are pretty good.

IMO, Panera used to be a lot better than it is now. I used to go to one regularly back in 2002-03 when I was living in Chicago. It was really good...... and it didn't hurt that one of my buddies worked at one and brought our clinic shift food from there all the time.

Fast forward to the last couple of years.....I've been to a few of them, and have given them many chances, but I've been very underwhelmed. Something just isn't the same.

That being said, to someone who didn't eat there 7-8 years ago, today's Panera might still be great.

/that salad looks good though

A lot of people don't keep up with shoe trends..but simply go into a store, see what they like, try it on, pay and go home. At least that is how I operate.

Had lunch with my girlfriends at panera. BBQ chopped chicken salad was the last thing I purchased. Lunch was a 3 hour affair planning our trip to commemorate our graduation with our doctorates. The options are Orlando (harry potter world, universal, and disney world), London and Paris, Prague, or Austria so far!!

Austria is unreal! I highly recommend it. The Alps are incredible to see/ski on. Also, depending on where in Austria you decide on, you can scoot over to Munich which is also really cool. I can't vouch for the others on your list (My Prague stay was very short, don't really remember it much, never been to London/Paris) but I can definitely say Austria is awesome.

Not too bad, but better than getting fast food with 5k calories!

That is very good to hear! I am in charge of researching Austria for the group!

The london/paris trip has the lead because of the short flight and potential to cram a lot of things in.

Last purchase:
These cap keepers just came in. Really needed them because of my propensity of losing things! I like this style keeper so far.

I was in Paris last year. Honestly I don't see the attraction. The people in paris seemed depressed, hurried, drained. I enjoyed barcelona and rome way more. The people, and city itself seemed more youthful and vibrant.

Yeah, Spain, Italy, Greece and Argentina are off our lists because we plan on going with our respective families.

Agreed. It is a much better choice than fast food.

My most recent purchase:

Disc Drivin': a turn-by-turn (like WWF) racing game. I grabbed it while it is still on sale for 99¢ (there's an ad-supported free version as well).

If you give Austria a try send me a pm. I am from Austria, exactly from Vienna. I would give you and your buddies a sightseeing-trip for free :D

If you take Austria, you should start in the capitol of our country, Vienna and than take the train to Salzburg (the sound of music, I have never seen the movie, but i think its very popular in the US :D )

I really enjoyed the Italian and Swiss border, Alps. Didn't think Paris was special but the rest of France is worth exploring road style.

Visited Guu Izakaya in Toronto with the girlfriend for a second time tonight. Last time I visited Guu was last summer, so it's the best Japanese meal I've had in a while. Cheap, too. 8 dishes + 1 dessert + 2 drinks + tax & tip = $80. Omnomnom. Comfortably full indeed.

Apologies for the terrible, overprocessed iPhone photos. Only took a photo of the partially seared tuna we had. Also had: grilled saba mackerel, salmon roe kimchi udon, ebimayo, gyu shabu black sesame beef salad, tofu & garlic sauteed mushroom salad, salmon natto yukke, and enoki hotate bacon. and of course a large mug of wheaty sapporo.

One of my favorite restaurants in the city! The Sake Mojitos are a must try, as well as the Plum Wine.

Best dish is the Black Cod.
