Why didn't you try them on?.

Ordered them online. :/ Actually initially ordered the New Standards, but they didn't fit how I wanted, so instead of sizing down, I went with the same size in the Petits... didn't work out.

What size are they? might be interested.

Size 26, which is actually a 28 inch waist. You're from Buffalo? I actually live near Niagara Falls, so-- if that's your size, there wouldn't even need to be shipping! Hahah.

To be honest, the food there is just edible, but we werehungry again after Lebanese food 4 hours prior, making it a wonderful hooky day from Solvang to Van Nuys...Thank God I don't live anywhere near greater LA. What a horrid place.

...And a parking meter parking ticket! :p

I really wanted a nice full frame camera and the Canon 5D Mark II has gotten great reviews. I had the option to sell my Nikon gear and come out even so it was a no brainer. :D Hope that answers your question!

I actually just made the same switch from Canon to Nikon - right now I'm using a D90 and love it, don't really need the FX kind of camera right now. They both make fantastic stuff :)

I agree. I loved my Nikon. But unfortunately I guess we have to be enemies now. :p

Getting back on track with the thread. I purchased a 50mm 1.4 Canon lens. (Image not mine)

seems like the 50mm lenses are popular in this thread. I posted earlier that I just ordered a Sigma 50 1.4 myself.

I don't quite like the 50mm focal length on a crop sensor. It's a bit too long and turns into more of a portrait lens rather than a standard one. The 35mm that SchneiderMan just bought is much better as a normal lens for all-purpose use (I'm probably only saying that because I'm used to it). I just got my 50mm because it's cheap and extremely fast (the f/1.4 AF-S version is about 4-5 times more expensive), and I want to own an older lens, for whatever reason. When I become a better photographer though, I'm definitely getting the AF-S version, as well as the 85mm f1.8D.

I'd agree with that - it is pretty popular because of the price. I personally loved the 30mm 1.4 when I had it.

Picked up a ps3 remote the other day. Man. What was I waiting for with this thing? So convenient - no need to connect every time, and the battery doesn't die so fast on my sixaxis controllers. I watch a lot of movies off my external hdd that is hooked up to my ps3.

Definitely a good controller - I had it for a while before switching to a logitech harmony but sometimes, I still miss all the inputs that I'm too lazy to put on the logitech :p

Not sure which lens you're referring to anymore. Both the 35mm f1.8 and 50mm f1.8D are ridiculously popular. I like the 35mm loads more than the 50mm AF-D though, 'cause of the internal SWM. AF is fast and silent. I only got the old 50mm f1.4 AI-S because of the slightly larger aperture. It's going to be my "still-life-with-ridiculously-thin-DOF" lens. :p

I should get one of those remotes too. I'm too lazy to transfer all of my movies to an external though, so I stream with some media server software.

How do you get the PS3 to play your media? I thought it could only really play .mpg and DivX .avi files.

The 50mm is inexpensive, but I never really liked the reach it gave compared to the 30mm.

Most of my media is avi. I have all my media backed up on externals so I just use them on the ps3. If appletv took avis I would be all set but the ps3 is great as a media machine.
