None are my pics but....

Two camera mounts to better record myself racing my car:

Cruise Cam (I had welded one up which clamps my Droid cell phone, which actually works great, but I want something easier to use without a touch screen)

And a suction mount:

Deciding which small HD cam to get, the Flip Ultra HD or the Kodak Zi8 (both with 60fps capability, but the Zi8 has an audio in which I would prefer)

Then a bunch of misc stuff for my BMW, but biggest was brake air ducting and replacement gas shocks to fix my sports seats to recline properly, and a new hood shock to prop the hood up:

I know...monoprice is great but not for me at the moment. I used to get all my cables/mounts/etc. from there.

monoprice is legit, but if you work at bestbuy cables and such can be had for just as cheap and easy returns, no waiting for shipping. Plus the other accommodations are nice, ugh I wish I would have taken advantage of the klipsch accommodation and picked up a RW10-D a few years back.

Celebrated the conclusion of my 12 hour long interview (8am to 8pm with 12 different interviewers) at The Johns Hopkins Hospital for residency with 2 things:

white ps3 controller because I always wanted one and
a 10 pack of thank you cards, plus a couple extra special ones for the directors

Tomorrow is dedicated to handwriting thank yous and emailing thank yous as well. Business etiquette man...it's labor!

Also celebrating with much needed sleep. Gnite!

Congratulations. I know this is completely off topic, but how does one get interviewed for 12-hours?

Yeah I have but I work at Best Buy.....

Oh so you know a lot about HDMI cables then.
Why is it so important to you that he doesn't spend his cash on overpriced cables? Is it possible that his employment at BB yielded him a great deal on said cable? You're awfully condescending.

Can you dig it?

A 40gb DIYmod Third Generation iPod for $65. I have always loved this generation, and it will be great to fall asleep listening to this guy in bed. (That sounds kind of dirty :p )

Can't deny the nice lit design!

Wait, so what is the mod? Also, congrats on your interview and potential job. That is a huge accomplishment in it of itself. :)

I want a microplane so bad. It's so inexpensive, I am unsure why I don't just buy it myself. Or could it be a $12.00 microplane on amazon turns into a $100 purchase? :D

New fish for my aquarium (the white one)

oOo - nice fish! I have heard starting an aquarium can be quite addictive. What kind of fish is that?

Thank you! For medical and pharmacy residencies, it is not uncommon to go through a 12 hour interview, which starts at 8am with orientation for a couple hours, and then doing half hour blocks with different people on the team that you are joining (in my case, pharmacy informatics hehe). You eat lunch with candidates of other specialties (oncology, pediatrics, ambulatory care) and interviewers so they see how you act in large social groups. My afternoon was filled with half hour interviews and then at the end of the day I had dinner with the director of the residency program and the past resident. Usually the dinner is held on the night before or something, but we just decided to do it that day. Hence 8am-8pm ;)

Sorry probably more information than needed, but I was just so excited to get the opportunity. Only 4 people got selected to interview for 1 slot, and they get hundreds of applicants because it is Johns Hopkins! I feel blessed to even have had the chance!

Thanks Jessica! Here is a link to the mod. It is quite famous over on head-fi. A take on Redwineaudio's iMod which replaces some various parts in the ipod to expand on its potential sound quality. iMods sell for ridiculous prices over on the head-fi forums, and DIYmods are a nice alternative to flex the music muscle.

Aiptek AHD-C100 pocket HD camcorder:

Got this at Big W this week for just $40-original price there was $98.

It's a nice HD pocket camcorder-has a built in flash (good for night photos), can record 3MP/5MP/12MP photos and 720P HD video and has HDMI output.

Included Arcsoft software is Windows only but videos and photos import fine into iPhoto, Aperture,iMovie and Adobe Premiere Elements 9 on my Mac mini.

Wow, and I thought a single job interview for 30-45 minutes was stressful. Not, TMI, learning is good. Once again congratulations!

+1

I'm still debating if I want to get some Klipsch equipment. I don't have much space for it atm but I probably will in the summer.

And to stay on topic, my last purchase:

I also purchased the Mac app as well.

Wow that is a lot of info. I'm going to have to really read it, I already notice a dead link though so I hope through the some 158 pages I can get an idea of what to do. I have my old 3rd gen that I am thinking of using in my garage but it would be fun to mod it.
