Need honest opinion guys.

Just got this
http://images.gtcarlot.com/pictures/46718612.jpg (legit photos will be up tomorrow)

I've been given hand me down cars since my very first car. Went from a Avalon-->06 ES330 --> 08 GS350.

Was given the GS because mother wanted something a bit more fuel efficient.

Im def thankful that my parents passed down the GS to me but in your opinion is it a bit girlish and old man-ish?

Its def not as old man like as the ES 330 but still, something about it screams 40 year olds and older. The color doesn't help either.

Again, don't want to sound ungrateful. Just wish I could get a car for myself for once (hopefully in the future!) or at least drive a car thats suited to my age. (22 tomorrow).

So....congrats on the new car and all, but that's not really your last purchase. Maybe you should have posted it in this thread instead?

And who cares what we think? If we told you it was "girlish and old man-ish" would you tell mommy to take it back?

You're 22 and you have your own Lexus. Just enjoy it.

Good.

But honestly.....your question is ridiculous. :):) <--moar smileys!

Because its in the wrong thread or you think i should be happy with whatever im given?

Seriously though, not to bait you into a fight, but why can't I show disappointment? Just because there are people in the world that might not be in the situation that Im in, does that not give me the right to be disappointed with the options I was given?

I love when people get new cars to save an extra 1 mpg. It totally justifies buying a new car. Not to mention, giving away the old car instead of trading it in. Shoulda like gas prices were killing her.

Just be honest and say I want a new car, don't make up some bs reason for it.

They do white, off white, magnolia etc etc....I'm not sure how many transformers are required but it's done by length of strips...I will need at least one more I think, but will wait and see how much I have left over when I've done the desk!

I will be checking this out tomorrow.

Shes actually buying a civic hybrid :)

but why trade in a car that you paid 45+ when you can only receive 28k back (according to dealership). In that case, passing it off to a family member is cost efficient because its moves within the family.

The civic hybrid starts at $24,000. I don't think she is going to use $24,000 less in gas over the next couple of years.

Even if it gets double the gas mileage she will probably spend $1,000 a year in gas if she drives 12,000 miles. With the old car it would be about $2,000 in gas. So giving away a $45,000 car to save $1,000 a year in gas isn't logical.

Some other advantages, driving a smaller car is quite a bit more convenient and going from supreme to regular gas is also a good jump.

That being said, not many people decide to go from an expensive car to a cheaper car. So im sure she has her reasons. I don't think "i want a new car for the sake of it" is a logical reason to go from a GS to civic. But thats just me.

I am sure she has her reasons, just saying its not has mileage.

Since she its costing her way more now than she would have ever spent in gas.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If thats the case, she wouldn't buy a hybrid. Unless theres another reason why people buy hybrids?

Because everyone is doing it. Or she has trouble with math and thinks this is saving her money. Or maybe she knows how much you wanted her old car.

Hahah. My first post regarding this situation stated that I DID NOT want her car.

Plus, not a fan of red.

I'll be sure to sign her up to a math class. No worries :)

Yes. When someone gives you a free car freaking Lexus, you should be happy with what you were given.

Can we get this thread back on track now?

You are right. I need to get back on topic. This is the wrong thread for this. My apologies. :)

Drop it off here, I'll take it if you don't want it!

Not only is it a working car, but it's $28,000 worth of working car. It's not a Miata or an old 'new' beetle so isn't girlish. The only reason it could be seen as old man-ish is because people with families can justify the repayments on it.

I like the car, but I'm an "old fart" and drive a Corolla, but you asked for opinions so here's mine, tell her you don't like it, don't want it and then go out and get yourself what YOU want.

Cheap (£27) flash because the built-in one on my D40x is broken. Hasn't arrived yet, but I'm not expecting it to be too great.

Wanted a newer car then the Jeep you see in the background. Commuting 30+ miles each way to work didn't help either. Feels good to be back in a coupe with a manual transmission.
