Big deal, you were curious on why I found you interesting and I said why. You've bought woman's jewelery, and I have bought some in the past too. I my wife wears every piece of jewelery I bought for her.

Had this to watch the mets at school in Philadelphia, worked great. Came home to northeast PA and turns out the Phillies, Pirates, Mets, and Yankees are all blacked out at my house. They really need to fix the blackout problems.

i hear alot of people complain about the blackouts, one way to look at it is the further you live away from the team you like the better so you wont get blacked out, mlb.tv has a blackout guide/map that gives you all the blackout areas, also i read that when a fan lives in the same city of their preferred team they use something called a 'slingbox'...good to see another Mets fan:)

After six interviews, I managed to secure myself a permanent, full-time teaching post.

This means I can now leave home. I don't have enough money saved for a deposit for a house so I will be renting at the moment. The flat I've picked is unfurnished and some white good appliances need purchased also.

I've tried to be sensible. I didn't want to buy the cheapest of the cheap stuff, but still find stuff that's high quality. The furniture for example, is a combination of solid ash and ash veneer and is part of a discontinued line.

The three sofa items came to about £780 but I paid extra for it to be treated so it resists liquids and stains. I'm not sure if I'm liking the sofa now :(.

The washing machine is AEG. My grandmother is actually buying me this. I thought this was a really good combination of price and reliability at £316.

Also purchases loads of other things that I'll not provide pictures of:

Bath towels, hand towels and dish towels
Chopping board
Utensils
Knives
Bread bin
Glasses
Plates
Cutlery
Pots and pans
Iron, ironing board and clothes horse
Bin...

The list goes on!

May I ask why you upgraded? I'm not singling you out or anything, I just find it interesting that people upgrade their computers once a year. And you have a rMBP.

Because it heats up very quickly and the fans are always making noise that way, hoping the new one won't. And mine was out of warranty, a big gamble to keep on using it. Annnndd USB 3. :) Total cost of upgrade was about $500.

Lovin the wavebird to play smash bros - the main reason why I picked up a second one.

I am going to get the OM-D though. Waiting for next pay check ;) Have fun with the D90 though. Great camera, and I have always preferred the Nikon vs Canons. I had a D90 for a while and it did a lot of things really well. Enjoy.

Thank you!

Though, after a little over a week with the D90, it's still not really "clicking" with me, unfortunately. I shot Nikon for my HS paper back in the day; but all through college I shot exclusively Canon. I know it would sound silly to a lot of people - as their cameras are pretty darn similar - but I just felt more comfortable with the button locations and the menus on my old Canon. Certainly, I don't expect me to completely get used to it after a few days, so I'll keep at it. I'm sure I'll be loving it soon enough. All that said, that OM-D is getting more and more enticing. Definitely post your impressions when you get yours! Do you know what lens/lenses you're gonna start out with?

Good choices! I reviewed Starhawk and All 4 One for a site I'm writing for and they are both good fun, all though they require a certain taste (which I don't have). And SSX really is an amazing series, I've been meaning to pick that one up but for some reason unknown to me... I haven't.

Also, I think it's sweet that you guys celebrate 4th of July so heartfelt. Our day is 6th of June and all we do is stay home from work. :)

Thanks for the kind words! I haven't gotten to the others, yet; but Starhawk is surprisingly fun! It has a really great sense of scale. Shooting on a battlefield as a human, then getting in a mech that's many times larger as you step on the measly people, and then transforming and flying away from the battlefield to an entirely different warzone miles away is just... really cool.

really awesome. were you able to get any rockets. Rockets are hard to find. these days its cakes and glorified sparklers. friend had something called a m100. thinking it was better then a m80 but it was laaaame. oh well.

It's pretty easy to snag the small and large bottlerockets. It's funny, they're actually legal in just a tiny, 10(?) sq.mile area in my city, but illegal every where else in the area. I don't know why that's the case, it just is. But in any case, we didn't do them this year because they are illegal where I live, and because of the extremely dry conditions.

ive been looking for something similar. model number? thanks

That is a Seiko SNZG015J "military style" watch on a generic NATO strap. The watch/strap can be found new for under $100, and very lightly used for about $60 :)

The new Dreamcast game from NG: DEV.TEAM, Gunlord. I love it.

A new 2012 and a Retina?! I'm jealous! Nice stuff, man!

My new job has a stacked supply closet, and there are quite a few colorful pens/sharpies. I absolutely love it! I always enjoy getting new pens/pencils/markers as gifts. Congrats to your sis!

And two pick ups for me today:

First, I saw this cheapie zoom was on sale for $150 at Walmart today. It's nothing great, but it was an okay deal... and an average zoom is better than no zoom at all. But then I remembered my younger cousin had just upgraded to a Tamron 70-200mm 2.8, and so I told him about the Walmart deal, and that if he had his old one laying around I'd give him $120 for it. He was happy with that, I was happy with that, and this fills the range for the time being before I really start investing later down the road.

its amazing how much stuff you dont have when you get your own place. its like all the little annoying things you accumulate over the years that you never remember buying but need them. I remember when i moved into my first apartment I went to make mashed potatoes one night and its like crap I dont have a large bowl. then I bought a bottle of wine and was like crap I dont have an wine opener. Then I went to cut my nails and was like crap I dont have nail cutters. just basic stuff you will constantly have to be buying.
