I sold my original 50mm because I didn't need it; technically I still don't. The only reason I picked it up this one was I couldn't find anything at Best Buy I wanted, and I had some $450 in certificates that were about to go to waste; everything else was either too expensive or I just didn't want it.

The 50mm is a good all around lens; unfortunately as I've been spoiled by the Leica Nocti, the f/1.4 isn't anything special anymore. I'm not saying the Nikon isn't great—it's probably unfair to compare to the two.

Wanted to get bootcamp on my MBP so I could play some games I've been wanted to try. I had an optibay installed with my stock 750GB HDD and a 120GB SSD in the main bay, but found that Apple dont let you boot/format a drive in the optibay in these models, so after a week of screwing around trying to get it working I removed the Optibay and my SSD and replaced with a 1TB WD drive.

It got some good reviews and it got some bad reviews. Still can't wait to read it. Almost half-way through with The Lost Symbol - started reading it a few years back, but college started and it got shelved.

not bad so far .. even though i just started it
 
just bought round trip tickets to San Diego from Philly for my birthday weekend. $150!!! Couldn't say no!

i purchased the 50mm 6 months ago , very amazing in low luminosity. The 40 is on my whishlist too. excellent choice :)
