I bought one of these a few weeks ago as I was tired of having multiple transformers for each device. It does a competent job of charging my iPad Air, Verizon wifi hotspot, iPhone, Seagate wireless drive and other devices in various combinations. I use it instead of multiple power bricks at home and on trips.

As absinthe requires certain accouterment, in anticipation of the receipt of my bottle of Absinthe, I bought a couple of those items necessary for the preparation "ritual".

The spoon is just a nice absinthe spoon. The glass does, in fact, border on the outrageous...but what the heck.

The figures in the base are representative of la fée verge...the green fairy...another name for absinthe. It may be hard to see, but the glass is very faintly green.

Pick up a Nikon D7100 body to replace my D90. Also got a 18-140 lens to try out. It was extra 150 bucks with the camera.

I bought the same camera on Sunday. Can't wait until the weekend to try it out!

I had a friend who loved absinthe. I remember the way he made it looked like he was cooking a drug :p

My two new purchases come today in the post! Got them both cheap on eBay.
AppleCare for my iPhone 5S for £30.
Official leather case new for £13.80.

eBay can be useful at times.

where did you get that? i want that! and does is carry sound through it?

I ordered it from a Dutch webshop. Since I live there. :) You can find them anywhere. I find it easier than to use a ''mini display (thunderbolt) to hdmi adapter'' attached to a hdmi cable.

Is this the AppleCare if you drop your iPhone and smash the screen it only costs £50 (or £70) to replace it?

I think that's AppleCare+ your on about. So no it isn't. The main reason I bought this was due to my dad's iPhone 5 lock button breaking at 14 months old and Apple want £210 for a new one, so it was more for security in case this happened to mine she would of just swapped it over at the genius bar if he had been in warranty.

I too upgraded from a D90 to the D7100 over the summer. Great camera! Glad I waited for the 7100 over the 7000

You do know, don't you, that in posting such exquisitely divine accoutrements that you are bringing back certain memories (both wanted, and unwanted)? Sledgehammer bliss……..

In strict design terms, needless to say, the spoon is sickeningly exquisite, yes, as is the glass, too (and yes, it comes in that delicate, almost translucent, slightly pallid green, reminiscent of spring's first tentative pale shoots….)

Well, I'm one of those who will always hail tasteful and classy extravagance: if you are about to set off on the road to perdition, do so with style, verve and panache, and have a happy journey en route.

So, all hail to your purchases. Enjoy. And please keep us posted on what transpires….. Meanwhile, I shall join you in spirit, and toast you from the echoing vaults of blissfully happy sledgehammer memory…….a pity I am unable to join you….(mentally slaps wrist and reminds oneself, 'never again, never again, never again….' with less conviction than is entirely credible)….

An invitation to join me in a glass of the green fairy and revisit the sledgehammer bliss will always stand.

Not that I wish to induce you violate your private pledge of abstinence from the nasty green brew! ;)

Bought 8 Gbs of DDR3 ram for my wife's desktop to mac it out at 16 Gbs, a Spigen Tough Armor case and a Body Glove Tracksuit case for my 5S. I picked the cases up for $5 each and the ram for only $40. Pretty good finds I think. I was looking at that same ram for $100 at Micro Center earlier this week.

It's a local bargain store. It's like an unclaimed freight type store. They've been real hit and miss with stuff. I bought a set of Calloway irons for $10 once, but they have a lot of stuff priced higher than you can buy it at Best Buy or Walmart for. You just have to know what you are looking for. They always have iPhone and iPad cases. They have a couple InCase MacBook Pro cases right now and a bunch of Zagg shields for iPads and bunch of iPad cases also. They had a bunch of the Belkin lightning iPhone docks for $25. That's where I got the Moshi wrist guard for $5 also last week. That Ram I bought was an awesome deal but they also had some DDR2 ram priced higher than Best Buy or MicroCenter. So it's always good to have your phone handy and search around to make sure you're actually getting a good deal.
