I will happily post a review. However, considering the lack of alacrity with with these over-the-pond orders are processed and shipped to the US...don't stand on one leg awaiting the review!:p ;)

Actually, I do not plan to stand on either leg awaiting a review; instead, I will sit in my capacious leather armchair, (acquired by means which do not bear close investigation, suffice to say, a nod, a wink, a bottle or two of wine and stocky, silent, smiling gentlemen doing the needful) perusing this thread…..

In any case, please have one for me. The memory of that sledgehammer bliss is one I shall continue to……..treasure…….and revisit on occasion. But I shall still await the review complete with tasting notes…….in due course.

Enjoy both your capacious (if illegal ) chair, and your remembrance of things past (I might have cribbed that phrase...).

I ordered the flask to be carried for emergencies only...say, snake bite!

Of course, I also carry...

Shrink, my friend: I'm not sure how to phrase this, but the 'snake in briefcase' look is considered a bit passé by some of us; however, that absinthe flask, now, that is…….something worth swooning over. Why, it is simply gorgeous; how utterly divine. Where on earth did you obtain it? (I will readily concede that the arguments put forward by my memory, namely sledgehammer bliss, are fading into oblivion by the day…)

Re my dubious leather armchair, the tale of its acquisition was straight out of an episode of MASH, (which I used to think pure fiction but now know to be solid fact cunningly disguised as humour), and is far, far too long to relate here, but none the less hysterically funny to remember, and indeed, a sort of exchange I never thought I would engage in, but somehow, effortlessly mastered. Ah, the rich tapestry of life…...

Only us folks of a certain age know that the joke was old when W.C. Fields used it, and from whom I borrowed it.

There are many beautiful fountains available. I was looking for one with specific dimensions so that it would fit under my counter cabinets, and have a high enough clearance under the spouts to accommodate my rather tall absinthe glass. I found this one at iheartabsinthe.com.

Beautiful absinthe fountain. When I am next home, the temptation is strong to add to my to coffee, beer, wine, port and cognac selection some absinthe (notwithstanding sledgehammer bliss) and of course, any such purchase will require the inevitable exquisite accessories…….

W.C. Fields…….a wonderfully gifted and expressively cantankerous individual. Oh, and an excellent actor as well…….

Held out longer than I thought I would. Got it off the Microsoft Store for $50 off. Not bad.

Apparently you can get them from Apple:
MacBook Pro: Bottom case foot replacement DIY instructions
A MacBook Pro covered by the Apple Limited Warranty or by an AppleCare Protection Plan may receive a replacement foot without charge. A MacBook Pro that is out-of-warranty may have a charge associated with the replacement.

I'm sure Apple has a disgusting amount of these little guys, they're probably missing out on a little extra revenue by not having these (among other parts) more readily available through Apple.

Bought this Nitecore TM26 3800 lumen beast. Yes, I'm a major fan of high end flashlights.

Holy crap that is an expensive flashlight  any particular reasons for being a fan/owner of such a product?

I have grown very fond of your adventures with absinthe. Cheers, fellow New Englander.

On topic, last purchases:

Just posted this in the watch thread too but it belongs here as well I guess since both pieces are new purchases. Below is my newly acquired Tissot watch and Pelikan M405 fountain pen. A nice matching pair if I say so myself!

I paid about half the retail from an authorized USA seller. Why did I buy it? I collect flashlights, simple as that. It's an expensive hobby of mine and many others. I have over 40 in my collection, others have well over a 100. Crazy I know, but I enjoy it. Check out http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/forum.php and http://budgetlightforum.com/. You'll see I'm not alone..

Thanks for the kind words...cheers to you too, Neighbor!:D

Good to know I'm not boring EVERYBODY to death...:p

I thought they were the Girl Scout cookies! :p

No, not at all; the absinthe adventures are fascinating (allowing me to revisit in blissful memory a slightly seedy but wonderfully opulent hotel in south west Kyrgyzstan…..)…….while debating making the re-acquaintence of said sledgehammer bliss….

Re the other thing, which you have pictured, along with a few others, including the original purchaser, might I ask what on earth are they and what is their function? Posts posted suggest that the context is somehow Mac related but for the life of me, I fail to see how…….
