just got my first knife from Murry carter here in portland he is a master Japanese blade smith seems the perfect size I needed something between my Japanese paring knife and my Chinese cleaver. desert ironwood handle I spent more then I wanted as the other I wanted was 150 and this was 265 but I fell in love with it. since each one is unique and this may be the last kitchen knife I buy. I was going to go pick it up as work was slow because of the weather but they shipped it that day.

That is a gorgeous knife; let us know how you find it when you use it.

Feels great in my hand and very sharp. It's the perfect size I wanted something between my Chinese cleaver and paring knife. I have only had a couple carrots and a onion to cut but is is easier then a paring knife and less work then the cleaver for those jobs. He has so many choices you really have to know what you want or need.

Excellent and I am delighted for you.

There really is little to compare with the feel of a good knife in your and, one that hits that sweet spot of strength, perfect heft, balance, ease of use - and yes, a degree of aesthetic appeal.

I have some excellent knives myself and they do make a difference when you are cooking.

My latest purchase was a Philips Hue Starter Kit (White Ambiance). Interestingly this purchase was instigated by my wife. She's been complaining for ages that the bulbs in our lounge aren't bright enough and that if we had these then she could increase the brightness when required.

Set it all up and with an hour of using it one of the bulbs died. A quick call to Philips and they're shipping me out a replacement tomorrow. Can't complain at all, super friendly support team on the phone.

Overall I'm liking the experience, particularly that when I come down in the morning the lights are on. Very tempted already to start expanding it.

I've got the Color starter kit wrapped up for myself for Christmas, and while I've already got plans for where the 1st three bulbs go, I'm also thinking about where else they can go. I've already got 90% of the house on LED lights, but the things I can do with the Hue lights seem way too much fun.

Made the plunge on black friday with the 3rd generation color starter kit and then 4 additional bulbs for now.

It's addicting!!

The light strip though has been the biggest difference as it makes my 4K TV pop even more and is fantastic for setting the mood.

Enjoy!

I chose this guy over one that only cost 150 (g) because I loved the looks. This will be the last one I only use 3 knives.

Agreed. It is gorgeous. Well wear.

I have a mix of knives, some Turkish that my mother bought (in Turkey) ages ago, some Italian that my mother bought (in Italy) ages ago, (I added to the Italian knives when I first visited Italy), some Japanese that I bought myself.

Actually, as with all forms of design, I love well designed and balanced knives; best of all is if they look well, too.

I only use a nice Japanese hand made paring knife that thing stayed sharp almost 3 years before I had to sharpen it. a Japanese made Chinese cleaver (it is the thin Chinese type cleaver but with a laminated steel) so it holds a edge a long time. I don't use it as much anymore as I don't cut up a lot so I got the new guy it is better for one onion one carrot and such. I gave my daughter all my other knives.

Comics: this'll probably be my last issue of Doctor Strange and the Sorcerers Supreme as I am not a fan of this incarnation of Doc and the story isn't really grabbing me. That said, the new Apache Ghost Rider is a cool character and I hope she moves onto something else.

I know my wife is interested in it after I told her they had strips I could put up in the kitchen under the cabinets. Once she she's the bulbs and what can really be done with them, I think she'll be hooked even more.

made multiple purchases in the past day! lmao

Just moved into a new apartment this weekend, and have my girlfriend moving in, in a couple of weeks. So I went and bought us a reclining sofa as a gift to her...(and myself)

also bought 2 pairs of apple AirPods
