Just got it in the mail -- Huawei Matebook X Pro. My first non-Apple computer purchase in almost two decades.

Since I recently jumped back to the Mac, I needed something to get my 4TB media drive back up and going. I managed to get it onto a 1TB drive before I switched back over, but 200 GB free space isn't going to last me long with some of the movies and TV seasons coming up on our lists to get.

I bought a spinner some years ago. It rarely gets used. A good shake over the sink does darned near as well.

During the summer I make a salad in the morning and store it in ice water to graze on throughout the day. Just drain, spin it, plate it, and refill with more ice water. Fresh and crispy on demand. I’m aggressively lazy.

Steaming is optional. :)

That’s not lazy. I buy washed salad and eat it for lunch most days unless I’m away.

Looks good. What are your impressions so far?

My impression so far is that once I got past the lack of Mac OS, buying this thing was a no-brainer. It's pretty impressive; I hate to put it like this but, the whole kit is a not-so-subtle jab at Apple, everything from the design of the laptop itself to the packaging it comes in. "Look what we can provide for like, half the cost of your product." The build is very high quality...love the metal body, and I'm liking the feel of the keyboard/trackpad so far. For $1139 (on sale at Newegg) I got a quad-core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and a 512MB SSD. This thing smokes. Just got my iCloud set up and migrated my iTunes library from the old Mac. Everything is working smoothly!

A new picture for my living room. I like it because it's a bit weird.
