We could go to one car for the mileage Mrs AFB does a week. Two runs to the shops. But it clashes when I’m at work. Also she wouldn’t drive a big car (her words) like my VW Golf!
My wife took a while to adjust to a big car (at the time an E61 5 Series Touring) but like all these things it just takes time. Give her a few weeks in a Golf and she’d think it was normal sized. It’s a bit like performance. You get used to good acceleration pretty quickly and it becomes normal. Although I could never persuade her to floor the throttle in my Boxster S :p

She wouldn't even try. She is not a keen driver. Didn't pass her test until she was in her 30's. When we moved to our new house (about 25 miles) that's the longest journey she's ever done. She drives to the shops from here which is 4 miles. Thats double what she used to do at our old house.

Cordless tyre compressor for use on my car and caravan.

Xmas present for my mother to give me.
i ordered and paid for it.
Gave it to my wife.
Wife gave it to my mother, pretending she bought it.
Mother gave the money to my wife.
Wife put money in her purse and kept it!!!
Happens every year. But by ordering my own presents I ensure I get the exact item I want. Not sure if Im crazy??

Lol. Reading this just makes me so happy we don’t do Christmas anymore. It’s just barmy.

My wife and I, independently came to the same conclusion about stuff like that: it’s a tool to do something; making it a Christmas present is kind of bizarre, especially as you’re buying it yourself anyway.

What model router is that? Looking for a new WiFi 6 set up for my apartment....
Hi,

I use a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro & two U6 Lite access points, the wifi 6 speed ks pretty impressive with the access points mounted downstairs.

True. I'm uncomfortable with people being me presents as they might need that money themselves, I also hate the obligation placed upon someone to buy a present in return, of a similar value.

I hate the thought of them buying me something I don't want. This way its guarantees their money isn't wasted, but I'd rather not receive anything at all, but that makes them feel uncomfortable. Weird isn't it.

It’s just training. Give it a few years and you can soon stop all that obligation rubbish. Not celebrating Christmas is so liberating.
