Ah, yes. The 1-3 cup model, or the 1-5 cup model. That has been one of my dilemmas, too.
No, I've not read a bad review about the company or its products, either, and I will be fascinated to read how you find it, as I am seriously debating ordering one when I am next home.
Made my 3rd lot of rice today, I put slightly less water in than the instructions suggest, bringing the water level slightly under the mark in the pan, and the rice turned out perfect for me, being lovely and dry, & not stuck together at all, just lovely.
As for the which size to buy, if I was buying again I would probably go for the smaller 1-3 cup model as each cup of rice swells to twice the size, turning one cup of rice into just about enough for two people. Three cups would perhaps be enough for maybe five servings.
