Just got the Breville BES880XL Barista Touch Espresso Maker and got it setup this morning. It has a touch screen with some default drinks or you can make and save your own. It suggests making Latte as your first drink to check out features and it was one of the best cups of "coffee" I have had (I use Lavazza beans).

Thanks! Not sure if I am going to keep the Saeco (to the left of the Breville) or sell it. It is more convenient when I am in a hurry because it is so automated, but I prefer the coffee from the Breville.

I think over time you may find yourself using the Breville more and more as you get to know it better; that is when you should consider selling the Saeco.

A very exciting set of wipers. They’re sorely needed too.

Obviously, you do not require prescription sunglasses.

I typically wear contacts but have one pair of prescription Maui Jim. While pricy at $1100 they are outstanding glasses, but I won’t buy another prescription pair until something happens to these.

I have two other of their regular sunglasses (one in a drawer for back up). I’m not a big sunglasses person, but Maui Jim truly have exceptional lenses in my opinion.

i like to have a pair of sunglasses in each car. right now, we have 4 cars so i need a new pair. otherwise, i forget, in my old age to grab a pair out of another car. makes sense right? ;)

Indeed it does! Lol

Since I was a small child, I've worn glasses, but, it was only as a teacher, it struck me as a good idea to get prescription sunglasses.

Naturally enough, normal sunglasses did nothing for me, - as I couldn't see when wearing them - and I grew to dislike the clip ons (they were mostly badly made) that had been available earlier.

My current lenses (both standard and sunglasses) are made by Zeiss, but I will certainly ask about Maui Jim.

Ha... I have some Ray Ban ex service clip ons... they are old but very cool, and heavy.

I've stopped wearing my glasses now, for about 4/5 months. Hate them but can't wear contacts.
Oh well.

But can you see?

There comes time when vanity must be defeated and disregarded - in the interests of more practical concerns.

I've worn glasses since the age of seven, when a nurse appeared at my parents' doorstep to inform them that it seemed that I didn't see the blackboard at school all that well (I suspect that it may all have been a bit of a blur), and needed to have my eyes tested in order to obtain appropriative corrective lenses.

As neither of them had ever worn glasses, and both had very good vision, it had never occurred to them that this was something that might need to be looked into.

Contacts, I don't care for, but there is no argument where glasses re concerned. The world is a blur from around six to ten inches from my nose. That is more than sufficient reason for me to wear them.

But, prescription sun glasses, I do recommend, and, looking back, I realise I should have invested in a pair years earlier.

My step daughter uses clip on flip ups! Lol. I try to tease her but she doesn’t care; she loves them.

I started needing glasses shortly after starting to work for the city. Due to the physical nature of the job contacts seemed the best choice.

Today, I’m still wearing contacts for work otherwise I don’t wear any corrective lenses. I’m fortunate to be nearsighted so I can read and do close work without them. And when running an errand out come the prescription sunglasses.

Yes, they were cool, (are cool?) agreed - but - in my experience horribly prone to being broken, and then, sometimes, very hard enough to replace.

I was teaching (not long) when my last pair of clip ons (a university debate, I was adjudicating, drinks afterwards, walking home, something falling and, er, breaking irreparably) and I thought - sod that - I can actually afford this stuff - why not order and purchase a proper pair of prescription sunglasses.

Initially, I had opted for a pair of Bausch & Lomb (elegant, prescription frames and lenses) only to discover that what they offered by way of prescription sunglasses did not accommodate what my left eye needed as that - it transpired - was way outside of what they had defined as their optical parameters. My right eye - slightly wonky - could be accommodated. But my left....

I came to the reluctant conclusion that the prescriptions they were capable of meeting were more of the - how shall one phrase this and remain diplomatic? - ah, cosmetic variety rather than one that is required for those who are (was? were?) seriously visually challenged, in one eye at least.

Anyway, my own opticians did the needful, (this was the late 90s) with lenses and decent frames.

That worked until more recent years, - the past decade - when I have had Oliver Peoples frames and Zeiss lenses for both.
[doublepost=1541548411][/doublepost]A surreal aside: As I age, I actually don't need glasses for reading.
