Seems like Blu Ray is the clear winner, so i might be forced to buy a PS3 in the next year or so. Unfortunately they stopped making the PS3's with the hardware support for PS2 games, it's only software based now, which results in lower performance, but oh well, i would probably only play PS3 games anyways.
If I'm not mistaken - I thought ALL PS3s did software emulation for PS2 and PS1. This is what I heard was the source of many incompatabilities with gameplay.
I know the PS2 had a PS1 chipset in it, but I thought the PS3 emulated PS2 and PS1.
Because if it's hardware rendering in my PS3, I want some (#*$ing answers from Sony for the total garbage PS1 and PS2 support. (music drop-outs, movies not rendering, ect...)
That said, still love my PS3. Slim-line PS2 isn't going anywhere anytime soon. (why waste 400W to play Jumping Flash, when I can use 32W to do the same?) And Dual-Shock is still an "old school" exclusive Sony-wise.
