Also ordered one of the new wireless keyboards and a new wireless mighty mouse (last one died out on me...great build quality on those scroll balls, Apple) for the "old" iMac

Hah, I thought that was a Dell the first time I saw it. But I have a question for you - why would you trade a comparitively high-spec & modern Mini for an old slow laptop? I'm hoping by 'trade' you got something else as well as the laptop?

Because I felt like it. :D No, really, I write for Low End Mac as my primary source of income now, and I prefer writing on a laptop to writing on a mini. Also, my old PowerBook (a 667MHz with a busted screen) and I go a long way back!

Nice...out of all the Apple 'books I've owned, that was my favorite. I had the 667mhz model.

SO DID I! See the above pic! May it rest in peace:(

Because you built a custom PC! lol... I got mine with student loan money. :p

Must of had one hell of an excess. The PC is over two years old so it is getting a little slow, and upgrades are not going to keep it alive forever. I will probably build another one, but there is a mac pro in my future, just not sure when.;)

Surely you could've sold the mini, used a fraction of the money to buy the old laptop & kept the rest for something else? If you swapped the mini solely for the laptop, wasn't that a huge rip-off?

There's another on CL right now (actually 10 but only one's left) for $600. They're actually, at least in my market, worth a lot more than the mini.

Besides, I tend to go with my gut and not my brain on business decisions. In my area, $400 would have gotten me a 400MHz TiBook if I was lucky.

 That's completely crazy! Why are people prepared to part with so much money for such a dated machine?

They're really REALLY rare around here, I think. My first one was bought off MR then traded to me before I was even a member here! This one I have now is the first one I've ever seen owned locally. My MUG is all 15 and 12" PBs and the occasional MBP sprinkled in at times. It's weird, AlBooks and Pismos are the only PPC 'Books there, besides myBook G4.

(Also, I forgot to mention, it came with a whole bunch of accessories and the casing is in really nice condition. )

I need to make a new setup for posting!!!!
