Do you do a lot of off-road driving?
Not really a lot of off road driving though I have and I will. I'm not sure how this will compare to my old disco which had larger tires (I think) and a Center locking diff. This has a CDL but there is not way to engage it because there is no linkage (well you can engage it you just have to go under the car and fiddle with some stuff). It has traction control instead which appears to work pretty good. It also has longer overhangs which hurts the approach and departure angles. It handles a lot better than my 98 on the road but lacks the 4.6 V8 my dads had which actually makes the car feel like it has some power. I live in New England though- lots of snow and ice so the AWD comes in handy. There is still ice on the roads where I live right now and about a 1ft of snow in the yard.
That's a nice looking beast. How much did you pay for your new friend?
* I thought I posted this question already, it mysteriously disappeared.
Let's just say I got a pretty fair deal on it. Overall it's very clean. Mechanically I see nothing wrong with it. The engine is absolutely spotless. Inside is clean as well. The outside has no dents, just a few very minor scratches you would expect on a 7-8 year old car. Right now they are fixing a small window seal that slipped down about 1/2" in the window that results in a whistling at 60mph+ and the sunroof switch for the front sunroof needs to be replaced. If they get the parts this week then it should be ready for me to take home. If not it will probably be next weekend.
I seriously looked at 8 other rovers...
Blue 1999 Disco 1, Burgendy 2001 Disco II, Blue 1998 Range Rover, Green 2001 Disco II, Blue 2000 Disco II, another 2000 Disco II, Grey 1999 Disco, Black 2000 Disco II

I picked up some rubber floor mats for it and a cargo liner. New cost is ~$320 but I got them used of this prison guard lady for $100. Mint condition, used for one season in her 04 discovery- good deal.
Next on the list will be iPod Integration. Afterwards maybe some 18" stock wheels. Too bad it has new tires.
