Just ditched the antique ACD's and hooked up with 32" and 27" LG screens. The sound bar & sub sound great. I should be good to go for today, we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Was lusting over a 24-inch iMac but just couldn’t justify the cost for what I’d be using it for. I do spend time in Excel a lot for our companies financial models and sometimes PowerPoint and the like but this’ll handle it fine especially since I’m using Remote Desktop to login to my work computer.
Traded in my 2019 mbp 13-inch/space heater, re-used the old monitors and other peripherals. Even if the base mini lasts me a year or two, that’s fine. I like newer tech anyway so maybe this will cut down on the money I waste upgrading every two-3 years 🤣
Got student pricing as I’m in my last semester of my MBA- will sell AirPods to recoup some cost as well.

When I return to the office (short term disability due to having knee replacement surgery) I’ll take a shot of mine. 2019 Mac Mini on three 29” displays.

No issue with heat, having it in the drawer?

No issues yet. I'll try to take a screenshot of the temps in iStat but it the Mini has been cool to touch basically the whole time. Though to be safe, I've started to latch the "keyboard door" open on that drawer open for more airflow.
I've never even heard the fans on my mac mini yet.

Keeping it simple & clean! 32" Samsung 4K Space monitor.
Very nice! What resolution are you using your 32" screen at? On my mini M1 at work with an LG 27" 4K screen, I tried 3008x1692 (via DP) but I found it to be too small. It might be fine on a 32" though. Looking to get a new external screen for the home office/studio and a straight 32" 4K may be an option even if I prefer more vertical space.

3840x2160. I have terrible eyes and I'm finding it absolutely fine :D. Definitely try a 32", coming from a 28" and it is so much better IMO.

Interesting! I have a 32" at home but it's my TV set and it does only 1920x1080 🤣 Still considering 2 screens mounted above each other as an alternative. Logic Pro needs lots of vertical space, not horizontal, so 16:9 proportions are really not ideal.

Nice.
What monitors? Which mini?
thanks....Vioteks..top is a later model than bottom and looks better with a 144hz refresh rate, bottom has 100hz refresh rate and the difference is so dramatic (144hz is easier on my eyes for some reason...), I'm probably going to sell the bottom one, GNC34C for another top model, GNV34DVBE2...it also has twice the inputs, ie- two displayport and two HDMI's. Mini is the M1...love it so far, except for not being able to scale text at max resolution, that's a bummer and also not being able to run bootcamp.

That's neat! I'm considering a very similar setup for music, but with higher resolution at a lower screen size. More pixels give me more flexibility in scaling, so 4K all the way here. I find 2560x1440 to be too low res for a 27" screen so I'm looking at two 4K 24" screens. It should give me a similar setup, though not as wide. That's the purpose - in our home office, the wifey doesn't like to be blocked out behind a wall :)
On another topic, what monitor speakers?
How do you like the mini for music production? My 16" MBP was coping fine until I set it to 192KHz at some point. It was for a good reason (playing audio tracks at 1/4 speed) but the track was crap so I'm back to normal now  Anyway, I'm not really lacking in processing power. But how are you finding compatibility? Can I run e.g. Logic in Apple Silicon but with a plug-in running through Rosetta?

the LG 4K 24" screens are so nice with a great ppi and give a very sharp image.
27 4k's are simply not as sharp given larger but same resolution.

Thanks...I LOVE these 34" monitors for audio timelines...I can finally fit an entire tune and then some in view without horizontal scroll...a huge efficiency improvement for me...Still tinkering with settings I like as far as color, contrast,etc...I do like the mini after coming over from Windows for ages...Audio just works, with no jumping through hoops that you have to do with Windows and also, MACs support different aggregate I/O audio devices which Windows does not out of the box..had to use the ASIO4ALL driver and it was a pain and had issues. I'd switched recently from Cakewalk Bandlab to Presonus Studio One software and it was nice because there was a Mac version I could use on my same registration. Not sure about Logic and plug-ins that may or may not work with the M1 chip...I haven't crossed that bridge, as I find most of Studio Ones onboard stuff OK for my needs.

You actually can. :)

Go to System Preferences --> Displays --> Press Option/Alt while clicking on ''Scaled'' --> The ''secret'' button ''Show all resolutions'' will appear, allowing you to choose non-HiDPI resolutions.
